  • This every other day BDing is exhausting me!!! I was out last night til about 9. Sort of ignoring the fact we would be due to DTD as we last did it on Sunday, I went to bed. As I was cd18 and pretty certain I ovulated on either Sat, Sun or Mon I wasn't too fussed and thought I won't bother mentioning it. Then at 10.45pm (after Liverpool won on penalties!!) OH came upstairs and said "are we having an earth then?" I could see it far enough!!! But glad today I did it, as I am still guessing ovulation, so you never know, maybe I ovulate late and it was worth it?!!!

I shouldn't complain as OH's enthusiasm this month is much improved on previous months!

A Fresh Start I came off the pill in December 2012. The first
couple of months I was a regular 28-30 day cycle. Then my cycles went very erratic, up to 50+ days. All in it took until January 2014, when we started TTC, for my cycles to settle down again. Now I'm roughly a 30 day cycle. Looking at replies from Shrimpy and Cath though you can see everyone's experience varies. Fx yours goes back to 'normal' quickly!

Lisa_Jane :j:j:j for enthusiastic OHs, even though it's tiring! More DTD can only increase your chances of a BFP! Do you think you could share the secret of how you make him enthusiastic about complying with 'the plan'?! Lol!

Emma really sorry AF got you :(

Glad you found the thread mich, sometimes things get missed on here but have a read through these 59 pages and you should be all set for January. There is a waiting to TTC thread but it gets quite quiet over there.

A Fresh Start I only came off the pill on the 3rd so I'll let you know! It seems to be going back to normal in terms of ovulation, but I was on the pill for 7 years! From what I can remember I was very regular and went on the pill for the pain - not looking forward to that returning!

Snapping_Crocodile OH and I are relaxing with it for the first few months but I am still tracking everything - I know I needed to DTD last night just to round off our chances so I go to him for a "cuddle" because I know if I hug and kiss him enough he'll ask me to go upstairs! :rotfl:

    Sorry about AF Emma :(

Anyone else got really sore boobs/nipples? Oh my days I am in pain with them! Judging by app I'm only 3DPO so I doubt it's a positive sign!

Hope all are well on this chilly September morning!

A fresh start my cycles went straight back to 29 days after around 8 years on the pill, everyone has different experiences though.
    Emma sorry about Af

My god I forgot how draining a 'normal' Af is, just so sleepy and achy!

I'm totally sympathising with you on this one! Just coming to the end of my 2nd AF post-pill, and this one has been a bit heavier, longer and generally more draining. I take it as a sign that my body is returning to 'business as usual' after the mini pill. Looking forward to escaping the 'wine & chocolate zone' this month :)

  • Snapping crocodile - I think last month's 3 days late af was tough on both of us so this plan was put in place by us both to try and ease the pressure. Oh seems to be committed to the plan as a way for him to ensure he is doing all he can to get a bfp. If we stick to it he will feel less guilty for every bfn we get!

Lulu - my boobs were a bit sore yesterday on cd18. Dr internet told me that sore boobs can be a sign that ovulation has happened?!?! Who knows what the truth is!!

  • Hi all

Not TTC just yet (next year) so using the waiting TTC thread however enviously follow this thread whilst waiting for my time next year!

As this thread gets more traffic I thought I would post this here too as it seems the most appropriate! Hope that's okay :)

"I was wondering if could have some advice please :)

Currently on the mini pill (Cerazette)... was planning to come off next year to TTC.

    However:
5/9 DTD and stupidly forgot my pill
6/9 missed pill again (?!) no idea how - never miss pills it was only on the Sunday when I went to take it I realised Fri and Sat were still sitting there :O
13/9 late evening very light brownish spotting lasted about 48 hours ish getting a little heavier towards the end but still not heavy (sort of like first or last day of AF)
    23/9 cramps (quite bad)

On my pill I don't have any bleeding normally at all let alone AF nor any cramping. I've had no other PG symptoms at all! Not sure if the spotting is due to missed pill or something else?

TBH if I were PG I'd be happy it'd just mean postponing wedding as that's the only reason we aren't TTC right now!

Think I'm going to test in the next couple of days... does any one have any experience of missed pill? (Specifically Cerazette/mini pill)?"

    Thanks everyone
  • Did anyone else come off the pill straight into their typical/normal cycle or was it a bit erratic at first then settle down? Puzzled, but I suppose in a few months I'll spot a pattern :p
    *delurking*

I was on Yasmin for 11 years and my cycles did not really settle down. I was really excited when I got AF about 4 weeks after coming off the pill, but apparently that doesn't count as a true cycle, you have to count the days between your first pill-free AF and the next pill-free AF.

My cycles were 46, 38 and 56, so it was very difficult to spot a pattern. I used the Fertility Friend app after being recommended by the lovely ladies here, but apart from CM I didn't temp or OPK as I didn't want to get too obsessed by it all so it made it very difficult to estimate the right time to BD. My green windows would be 2-3+ weeks long! It also meant that I spent a small fortune on HPT's as I had no idea if I was late or just experiencing a very long cycle.

BUT, I did still get my BFP, much to my surprise, and I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, so having irregular cycles does not necessarily mean that you are less likely to conceive, it just makes it a bit harder to DTD on the exact day. I found that as long as you BD regularly, take your conception vits and possibly use Agnus Castus and EPO (incidentally I used them both for the first time the cycle I got my BFP - maybe coincidence, maybe not!) then you're in with a chance.

Good luck to you and everyone else on here, I hope to see you on the pregnant boards soon! Lots of baby dust to you all xx

I was on Cerazette prior to TTC. I once had a long lasting stomach bug. After 2 days of sickness I had a short bleed (probably lasted about a day). I think I had essentially missed the pill from throwing it up. In contrast though when I came off the pill I didn't have a withdrawal bleed at all, only a proper AF about 6 weeks after last pill.

Sorry, that's not much help! Basically, I think everybody reacts different ways to missing pills and in my case one person can have different reactions at different times.
