  • Evening Everyone

I feel bad typing this when some of you are having such stressful times but thank you for all your good luck wishes :) and I'd like to say that the CB Digi that I tested with this morning was a BFP :j according to the read out we conceived 1-2 weeks ago.

It is obviously very early days so we are happy but trying not to get too ahead of ourselves.

Fingers crossed there will be more BFPs this month:D

    Thank you all again xx

ttc39 - can I please ask if they are doing investigations for you after your second MC? I've been told that I can't have any tests until I've had 3 in a row despite my age (35) and TTC for 19 months.

I guess it could be different areas have different rules but it's still so cruel.

2 PG announcements in the last 10 days - hit me hard yesterday and was in tears whilst sat at my desk at work - it doesn't get any easier does it!

Hi gelly, we were "lucky" and only had to have 2 mc due to my age being 40, so after the 2nd we both had to give blood test which has gone off to see if we are physically suitable to have a baby together and I've had about 3 other lots of bloods taken , one for lupus, one for clotting and not sure what the other was for .

We should get all these results on the 20th I hope ,

Big hugs Gelly , I know how hard this is for you and me :-( and others on here xxxxx

Huge congrats EstatesPrincess, wishing you all the best!

Welcome Mrs CAR. I was lucky as my cycle returned to normal as soon as I came off the pill so no real advice to offer I'm afraid. Hope (in a nice way) that your stay here is short!

  • Congratulations estateprincess

mrs c.a.r my cycle took over a year to return to a regular pattern after coming off the pill. Everyone is different however so hope you don't have to wait as long as me :(

I'm not really sure where I am this month. I talk my temperature each morning, and that had been so erratic this month I'm not sure I've ovulated as I'm now CD20 on a usual 29-30 day cycle, although we have been DTD just in case. I didn't OPK this month as I was trying to relax a bit. Not sure what's going in or whether it's related to my newly diagnosed hyperthyroidism or whether my body us just not working for me. Only think I can do is wait it out for the witch to arrive

Thanks for replying ladies. I did have a feeling it'd take a fair while to return to normal, I just hope it does!
I was thinking about buying a job lot of pregnancy tests off the internet last night but the reviews are so mixed I decided against it. I was thinking about getting ovulation tests, do you think it's worth it this early in the baby making process?
I can see already the kind of heartache and stress TTC can bring and big hugs to everyone who is feeling the strain, hope everyone is feeling good today

Snapping crocodile - I'm the same, OPKs have given faint lines so something has been happening, but nothing remotely like a peak. What are the implications of your diagnosis for TTC? Sorry if I missed it. Hope AF stays away for you.

Mrs CAR, if your cycles are irregular when they return then you may find OPKs helpful, I can't get on with them myself but plenty of others manage fine so I think it's just me! I test most months as I'm a glutton for punishment so do have some cheapie tests, they were only a couple of quid so I was happy to give them a go. I believe they are reliable for the majority of people?

I bought internet cheapies of both OPKs and pregnancy tests off amazon I think. I temperature chart as well as using OPKs and for me its better than just BD'ing as often as possible as we actually find that more stressful. The problem is you can BD twice a week throughout the month and still miss your window.

Thanks for doing the lists kellykins. Huge congrats Estateprincess - wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Coming to the end of the 2ww - hope AF doesn't show up!

Thanks for asking shrimpy. Unfortunately I'm not really sure myself at the moment. I'm seeing the consultant for the first time next month and have loads of questions about things like this to ask. I have done a bit of googling and without treatment it can result in me not ovulating, as well as effecting the regularity of my cycle and how heavy my period is. Apparently it is not impossible to conceive with it (assuming you ovulate of course!) but you are also at a massively increased risk if miscarriage :( My appointment can't come soon enough! Temperatures still erratic so still not convinced I've ovulated.

Hope we both ovulate soon :o How often each day do you use the OPKs and what CD do you start? Fx for you.
