Nope, the fact that you are so financially inept that you are willing to borrow to the hilt to pay for your flashy day (with your 2.5k wonder photographer perhaps Hello magazine will be interested in the zelebrity wedding of the year).NaturalBornHustler wrote: »why are people on MSE so damn bitter / sour / hooked on irrelevant sections of posts!
It seems that anyone who doesn't agree with your wish to waste money you haven't got is bitter/sour in your eyes - sensible and financially astute would be more accurate.
Enjoy the big day, I'm sure in 20 years time everyone will still be talking about what a wonderful day you provided for them and how it was so much better because you went for the £40k package rather than the pleb version.0 -

Which if you weren't so stupid as to be having a "lavish" wedding that you can't afford, you could have paid for without the need for a loan!!!!!! So in effect, you've had to borrow to pay for your wedding.0 -

Hardly. You clearly have an issue with the concept of the wedding being paid for. The loan is for the renovation. :cool:0 -

You're obviously incapable of understanding the fact that if you hadn't wasted the money on paying for the wedding you would now have the money to pay for the renovation and wouldn't need a loan.
I'll just leave you with a couple of links. Bookmark them, you're likely to need at least one of them in the future the way you are going.

Oh my days I can't believe the amount of abuse the OP has had!
They asked what the best way of getting a £20k loan was, without penalties for early repayment.
Yes, £40k is a lot to spend on a wedding - but that's their decision, and I doubt anything some anonymous strangers on the web say will change their mind! Yes they could have had a smaller wedding and not need to borrow for renovation, they could also have bought a house that didn't need renovating, or stayed living at home, or lived in a run down shed.. the point is, there are always other options, but they were asking for help with the route they have chosen!
As for whether they are a "troll" or not - some of the responses on here have been rude and offensive - which is trolling in my book!
Maybe the OP is a troll, maybe not - but it seems to me that whenever someone posts on this site and is in a fortunate position, the jealousy comes out and they are always accused of trolling.
OP - good luck with renovations and I hope you have a fab wedding day0 -
No thanks. I am shocked you do not understand the fact I am lucky enough have a mortgage free BTL. If I get in trouble. I will sell the BTL or remortgage. A wedding isn't a waste of money. Maybe yours was !!0

What fortunate position is the OP in? The fortunate position of having to borrow £20k because they overspent on their wedding - that seems more unfortunate than fortunate.0
