  • Wow - just wow - this thread!!

OP, best (cheapest) options would be SBT credit cards as already mentioned - have a look in the credit card section for super-balance transfer cards that let you move the money to your current account (as cash) for a fee. Alternatively re-mortgage the B2L.

Both would probably be cheaper than loans on the proviso you pay them back exactly as you would a loan.

The rest of your post about wedding etc has taken this totally off-road :rotfl:.

    A wedding isn't a waste of money. !!

It is if you can't afford it!!
    Maybe yours was !!

Nope, still happily married after 15 years and enjoying the fact that we didn't waste shed loads of money just to impress people (and we easily could have afforded to pay for a wedding like yours from savings - we just didn't see the need to show off)
  • No thanks. I am shocked you do not understand the fact I am lucky enough have a mortgage free BTL. If I get in trouble. I will sell the BTL or remortgage. A wedding isn't a waste of money. Maybe yours was !!

A WEDDING BECOMES A WASTE OF MONEY WHEN YOU GET DIVORCED!!:rotfl:

I just love some of the comments on here!!

  • Hi all
Just an update really! i managed to get the required 20k from the bank and thankfully I have paid back most of the debt (just 4k to clear)

We are still happily married (for now!) and our dream house is almost finished to our standard!

Heres a few pictures of our dream house and some snaps of the big day!

    I would've expected a fancier cake for a £40k wedding.

I was reminded of this thread by an article in The Times today, which reports that there is an inverse correlation between money spent on a wedding and the length of the subsequent marriage.

I do hope that it's true, as my fianc!e and I plan to spend only the registry office fee on our wedding.

Hardly. A £500 photographer isn't the same as a 2500 one. And no. It's a modest wedding. 20k is hardly a debt I will lose sleep over.

You just sound like a c0ck.
