And even at that price, your credit score isn't worth it
.
There have been posters on here with CCJs who Experian think are excellent credit risks that's how accurate the score is.0 -

If you and the Mrs both have a decent wage could you not both apply for 10k each? you'll probably get better rates if you apply for loans under 10k..
or
"I have only had to resort to use a loan years ago with my bank (natwest) and the funds were approved immediately" try them again
or
Remortgage and overpay

I think that might have been tongue-in-cheek. To me, even £20k is utterly extravagant.

Not if you're going to be putting it on a Mortgage. The most important thing is the Marriage not the Wedding, its only one day which you may find yourself paying for, for the next 7 years. Life gets in the way, then its babies, moving house, getting a new car, possibly losing your job, wedding still being paid for, not worth it in the long run.

I agree.
I got married last August. We did it properly.
It cost £2500 in total.0 -
If you switched it around and said "I have money saved for house renovation and £20k towards my wedding but want to borrow another £20K to really splurge on the wedding" would it sound as reasonable?
I am gobsmacked that you would borrow that much money to blow on a single day - your marriage is about the future, not the party.
We spent what we could save up for on our wedding and didn't come back from honeymoon with a load of debt hanging over us - bliss!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Instead of being ripped off why don't you shop around and save yourself ALOT of money?0 -
Agree, there are much cheaper women out there.mustang121 wrote: »Instead of being ripped off why don't you shop around and save yourself ALOT of money?

The most useful post on this thread. Never thought about splitting the loan meaning we pay a far more attractive interest rate !!0
