  • Sorry to disagree but I'd put the money into the bed fund. Nothing beats a good night's sleep.

Grrr, typed out a reply and my browser shut down

    Let's start again.....

Thank you for all my birthday wishes :A

We had a nice meal last night, but it was really packed in the restaurant, so we were actually in there for 3 hours and only had 2 courses. My friends got me some nice Champneys smellies and some Thorntons chocolates.

At the moment, my birthday money will be used to tide me over until I get paid. I will then spend some on myself. I need to make a list of the clothes and other bits I really need to buy and then scour eBay for some bargains.

The bed isn't urgent at the moment as OH is sleeping in the spare room so I can get a decent night's sleep. I would like to pay for it with Amazon vouchers that I earn, and we need it before OH's parents visit again (not sure when that is - not for a month or so I hope).

I'm going to post this before it disappears again!!

  • Maybe you should take your time with the bed while explaining to OH that you can't possibly have his parents to stay given the current sleeping requirements ;)

Good idea INOD!! Don't think it will work though. He would just say he'd sleep on the sofa bed.

I sold the Gravity DVD I won yesterday in CEX for £4. Not bad considering it was free and has been loaned out to quite a few family members and friends since I got it.

I then promptly spent that in the pound shop. I got some Sally Hansen magnetic nail varnish, 4 packs of facial wipes and some other bits for the house.

Received my £5 from Swagbucks, so my bed fund is over £20 now. I'm close to payout on some other sites too, so that will be boosted over the next week or so. Hoping I can get to £50 this week.

I'm receiving 2 more free trial products soon - some hair dye and an instant porridge pot. Love getting freebies through the post.

Sounds good, Emz. I love shopping with 'free' money:j

May I be cheeky and ask which companies you are testing products for please? I'm very envious of the Foot Pedi thingy as if I wasn't so strapped for cash and never buy anything for myself unless absolutely essential ( and a pumice and other bits that I already have are just about having the same effect albeit for more work:() I'd buy one.

I've tested stuff for SuperSavvyMe before but it was only loo cleaner and washing detergent that I was ever offered:(. Still, they were free so I shouldn't grumble.

P.S. Not been around much recently so please accept my very belated Happy Birthday wishes:bdaycake:. I'm so pleased you received some lovely gifts and were treated to meals etc.

Hi CBC :) - thanks for the birthday wishes

Most of the free stuff I've had recently have been from BzzAgent. I find that if you keep on top of the surveys they have on there, you do get offered quite a lot. They give Tesco Clubcard points when you complete activities too.

The porridge things I'm expecting are from a survey on To Luna though.

I agree Lou!! Just been there to get my new tyres fitted and they said the ones they ordered for me on Friday haven't arrived, so I have to go back tomorrow!!

More likely they did arrive and they used them for someone else's car. The woman at Ford told me Kwik Fit were 'pretty good and would deal with me quite quickly'. Yeah right!!

Don't blame you Lou. What makes me laugh is they have a poster in there saying how they treat Motability customers really well blah blah blah.

(BTW, just boosted the bed fund by £2.50 :D)
