Hi there folks,
On Saturday 01/02/14 I got a ticket stuck on my windscreen at Moorgate retail park in Bury. The car park is 2hrs free parking, but I got done for leaving the site. £100 or £60 for early payment.
I have read the newbie guide and various other threads.
Have I got this right???
I understand I should do nothing for now and wait for the NTK to arrive.
Then I should send a letter to UKPC using one of the model letters as a guide. ( I have found another thread with the exact same scenario as mine, at the same car park) His letter has got the thumbs up from some guys on here, so I will do one similar.
My main appeal points being, genuine pre estimate of loss, poor signage, and to state they don't own the land so can't offer contracts etc.
Is that it for now? Is there anything else to do ?
I've read different views on complaints to store managers within the site.
I would really appreciate any help and reassurance, I have never done anything like this before!
Thank you

correct, and thank you for being one of the few people to read the newbies thread and to take the time to understand this new topic for you0

to be honest, I got told off for hijacking a thread earlier! oops
once I'd got my head round all the terminology, and read through things a few times it started to become clearer. Seems quite simple at this stage, feels like I'm missing something! I'm concerned it will get overly complicated as it progresses.
Still don't fully understand why the method has changed from ignoring all the threats to appealing. Do people still successfully use the 'ignore' approach?0 -
the method has changed because you risk a court claim up to 6 years from the alleged date in England/Wales. Some companies are doing court more
We can beat the parking companies with Popla, so why risk it?
Yes ignore can still work for some companies,Proud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -

yes and no
yes for scotland and northern ireland - ignore
do not ignore is for england and wales , due to POFA 2012 which makes the keeper liable if the rules are met
the other 2 regions dont have pofa 2012 so the driver is liable, not the keeper
in the end, the driver is always liable , pofa or no pofa0 -
liable for the attention of whoever deems them liable for whatever they deem to charge them with0

the fact is that thousands of people have used these systems and successfully won their cases, even in court, you are but a drop in a big ocean
this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822 tells you everything you need to know and is honed by the person who wrote it with advice from people who know about these things, and the feedback helps hone it even further
its only a parking charge invoice so no real biggie, why worry about it when you have all the details here to quash it and cost the PPC £27 + vat if they take it to popla ?
my opinion is this, who do these people think they are telling us what we can and cannot do ? it infringes civil liberties in my opinion and they deserve to lose on the grounds that you could have been going to a cashpoint or bank prior to spending on the site0 -
Don't worry over this pathetic parking company, they don't issue claims in a court, they are one of the most inept companies you will ever run across. Just follow the advice you are being given and you will come away not paying anything. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
