Hi Michaels, my 45 days were up on Monday, no sign of £100 thus far.tried to ring this morning but got fed up waiting after 10 mins.
I think I may just give up!0 -

When mine was delayed, I called - no queues, took at least 15 minutes, but fairly effortless. £100 appeared within a day.
Forgot to ask them why it was delayed though.0 -

My £800 payment was actually the day before I got my switch confirmation letter, so either way 45 days have passed.
Just called them and, after being on hold for over ten minutes, was told that I'd fulfilled the criteria and should've been paid. They said I'd be paid within 10 working days from today. >_>
Exactly the same promise and timeline (i.e. Tues) here. But they also stated that they would send an internal email to the switching team to prompt this payment.
Nothing received yet.0 -
Well, I tried the call again today and got through in a couple of minutes. The advisor said 'I'll just speak to my manager to confirm that you've met all t&c requirements' she came back and confirmed that I did meet all t&cs. then she put me on hold again as she was going to speak to the person responsible for paying the £100 incentives to find out why it hadn't been paid. After another couple of minutes she came back again but with no definitive answers other than to say 'quite a few people have not received their incentive payments when they should have'. She has passed it on to another team to investigate and hopefully resolve it.
If the manager agreed that I satisfied all t&c requirements for the £100 incentive payment why is it so difficult just to pay the £100 into my account immediately?
The mind is continuing to boggle!0 -
Just in case this helps..... (EDIT: READ RIGHT TO THE END!!)
Having opened the account, just applied for my switch and set up online banking over the phone.....
I told the adviser about all the complaints on here and he went through all the usual possible reasons for non payment (i.e. s/o's or DDs ....£800 in etc etc.)
Then I asked when I could first fund the a/c ..... and apparently one of the Ts and Cs is that the account cant already have £800 in BEFORE the switch is COMPLETED..... my switch date is 6th May so he said fund on 7th or after. If I used online banking to transfer £800 now I would not qualify......
EDIT : Maybe, for a change, I got an adviser who knew what he was talking about..... found this in the 'switching' Ts and Cs for EXISTING customers....
QUOTE
*This offer is not available to existing customers with a Co-operative Bank or smile current account who pay in on average £800 or more per month over the three months prior to 1 February 2014, or since the account was opened, if that is a shorter period.
ENDQUOTE
So it looks like opening a new account then funding it before the switch has completed means your an 'existing customer'.
Bellabooski ..... you say 'I paid in £800 immediately and paid in another £800 two weeks later.......
I think this is what they may use to wriggle out ....... but it's not very clear in Ts and Cs ..... I think anyone switching would consider themselves a new customer, and not even look at the Ts and Cs for EXISTING customers. !!!!0 -

I can't speak for others but that definitely doesn't apply to me. I actually waited for the switch completion date to make sure everything went smoothly, which I have to say it did until non-payment of the incentive.
Thanks for the info though.0 -

Bellabooski ..... you say 'I paid in £800 immediately and paid in another £800 two weeks later.......
immediately after switch date which was 28/2 £800 credited on 30/2.0 -
Pleased for you .... but I still think that with the ease of setting up online banking at the COOP people would be tempted to fund as soon as they have set it up to meet the £800 criterion and as they were switching banks, would not think to consider themselves 'existing customers....' !!!!0

You'd hope that the ombudsman would look very dimly on this if this is the condition they are using to refuse payment on.0
