Wendywitch, please don't underestimate what you are capable of doing, but at the same time build yourself up slowly and surely. Whatever you do, get relevant qualifications along the way (think McDon@lds stars) so that you can prove to yourself and others what you have achieved. Good luck with your applications.

Yesterday I finished the cross-stiching on the anniversary card. This morning I have added the tiny beads and I am about to complete the card as soon as I have had my shower. It's been a labour of love, but I've enjoyed doing it. Perhaps a visit to the opticians is due soon, though....

The gales have died down here this morning and it is dry and not so cold, though cloudy . I threw open a window in each of the upstairs rooms as soon as I got up, and it feels much fresher in the house now. I will close them again soon as I'm going to be going in and out, and I don't want all the warmth downstairs replaced by a cascade of cold air coming in through the bedroom windows! The break in the weather will give me the chance to pot up my begonia corms and irises and to build my compost bin

DH is getting on well with his garage so I have hopes of him clearing space in the utility over the weekend, then I will be able to start stripping the old paper in there next week.

OH and DS1 out for the morning.. banished to the gym!! So just the 2 littlies here.. I am trying to summon the motivation to sort some charity shop stuff out.. or filter through Squeaks clothes.. I really need some large storage boxes with lids that can go in the loft.. I don't like those vacuum bag things but I need to sort these mountains of between size clothes!


Loo run.. then 10:45-11:15am HHC if anyone wants to come assist????

half hour cut short by a sad baby girl


I got upstairs bins emptied and recycling out of the bathroom filled a binbag of rubbish and got laundry to the kitchen and partially packaged the car seat for repair.. it is being collected on Monday. Post sorted bits added to cork board.. how did I survive without it? DS3's DLA letter filled in and sorted to return and parent/tutor slip signed to go back.. and.. Dot dressed.


Pixie is now starving so having 2nd breakfast.

Clear any clutter from desk
Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!!
Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc
Got an hour...
defragment your pc while doing this.
Clear a mega hotspot!.. shred it.. and fling it.. or just burn it!
Terrible Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room

Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum & turn mattress before replacing with fresh linen..
Air the duvet, unless it's raining!!!!
Wipe doors down!
Got an hour...
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Have a sort and tidy in the linen cupboard/airing cupboard while searching for your clean sheets.. is it pretty in here again?
Clear a hotspot.. or spend 15 minutes clearing one.

Wash your bathroom mats, nets, clean blind/curtains etc
Wipe down tiles in bathroom..
Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required
Clear a mega hotspot!.. shred it.. and fling it.. or just burn it!
Extra mission:

• Wipe the skirtings, door and window frames in these rooms
• Wipe down the doors and frames in these rooms.
• clean the radiators in these rooms
• Fling all those empty bottles and tubes
• Replace sponges/flannels/toothbrushes that are in need

Terrible Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
30 minutes to spare...
Sweep and mop floors
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, clean out any spills or grots in there!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Got an hour...
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc
Clean fridge and see what needs using first (why do I have 4 jars of cranberry sauce in mine?)
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Check those washing machine filters and drawers for ickiness!! Tumble dryer and dishwasher filters need to be done too!!
Extra Mission
Choose one or more of:

• Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
• Clean oven if it really needs it.. or just do the hob.. mines gross.. you need to shame me into cleaning it!

Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. Are there any that need rehoming?
Sort the magazine heap, books and papers that have found there way in here and need to go back out!
Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –

• Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper.
• Clear and declutter that there mantelpiece!!
• Clean a window or two.
• Binbag dance.. Get a binbag, crank up the volume.. strut that stuff, sing loudly and out of tune and off key, fill the binbag and bin it!!!
• HHI.. another mound gone!

• 42 fling boogie time, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
• Half hour finding and pairing up all those stray odd socks.. Fling the holey ones and send the ones that don't fit to nursery or school.. they always need spares and the big ones can be used to make puppets.. or just recycle them!!
• Clean windows in these rooms
• Wipe the bed frame it is amazing how fluffy they get!

First run of books done and sorted. Not looking very good ATM Took longer to sort them out than I expected so I'm leaving my bath until I get back in. Going to see if I can get the books to the recycling centre later if it doesn't start raining post bath, if it does I'll leave it until tomorrow

About to leave to collect more books or stuff cards through letterboxes saying "calling back tonight after 6pm PLEASE leave the book outside" :o I really hope there are more books left out or the forecast rain stays off until after 7pm. I hate collecting books in the rain :wave:

DW emptied and reloaded.

Dot is being a PITA whining behind me so I keep giving her jobs to do.. Pixie is whining too in her chair.. so she is on ignore.. she is fed and clean and entertained and has toys and tv and her rocker so has nothing wrong just wants to sit on me.

I need OH to go out more often.

Back! Got sidetracked by a message from a friend, her daughter is having problems with psycho (ex?)boyfriend and due to me being the expert of psycho husbands :cool: I was lending an ear.
Dog bedding out of tumble dryer, WM back on, DW unloaded and reloaded , kitchen sides and window sills wiped, one window cleaned. Can't reach the other with out help so it'll wait til a girl gets home.
Dog fed, cats fed. Coffee made
I never did take washing upstairs, WILL DO once coffee drunk
