Off to Sharm in Eygpt, I intend to take my Samsung tab 2 tablet, however, our hotel charges a fortune for wifi.
Before departing the UK, is there a PAYG dongle type of device I can purchase which I can use whilst away?

I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you

It's unlikely that the price of PAYG 3G data under a monopoly state telco will be cheaper than hotel WiFi, although it's possible.
It's certain that the price of roaming 3G data will be massively higher, so even if you buy the device here, the SIM will need to be Egyptian.0 -
Could just leave it at home. Not the end of the world to go without tabletMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

Look for unlocked Mifi, Amazon are roughly £50 but you can get cheaper on eBay. You then need to buy a data sim when you get there which cost roughly £30 per GB, may be cheaper paying for the hotel Wifi.0

you could get an unlocked dongle or mifi and buy a prepaid vodafone turkey sim card in turkey which costs about £21 for a 1 gig package, im looking at the vodafone turkey website then using google translate to english

I'm not that good with technology
Lots of the hotel reviews state that the hotel's wifi is slow at loading and recommend having independant wifi.
Can I just buy a data sim in the resort, or do I have to buy unlocked mifi 1st?I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -

I dont think a dongle will plug in to a samsung tablet via usb port and actually work so your looking at an unlocked mifi box then I would buy an internet sim card from a supermarket or phone shop in egypt then put it in the mifi boxLet them eat cake (Marie Antoinette 1765)0

The one you linked to, won't work. Has to be a mifi or travel router. tp-link now do one, as do a few other companies.
Seems vodafone is the best or Etisalat.
Vodafone EG is 150 egyptian pounds for 6gb data. about £13. Don't know cost of sim, plus need to buy mifi or travel modem router. But about £50 upwards to broadband.
