Was it all the 'LOL'ing and calling other posters idiots and bragging in a very childlike manner about class and implied wealth? :rotfl:

    Yes.

Then again the OP is apparently a management consultant working in the mobile phone industry given that he attending the MWC 2014 conference, allegedly. I kept picturing the Phone Shop on E4 and thought there was a slim chance that this clown might be real.

If the email correspondence is accepted as evidence of you surrendering the tenancy early, the landlord would still need to apply to court to get you evicted and even then you don't have to leave until the bailiffs physically remove you from the property. So whilst you have asked to end the tenancy early and messed your landlord around you could string this out for a few more months.

Your landlord, being an amateur and !!!!ed off, could enter the property whilst you're away, change the locks on you and leave your belongings in the street even though it would be completely illegal. That's what my concern in your position would be.

Hopefully after having his fingers burned, your landlord will start doing things by the book.

    Hi Pixie,

If the LL does this, I will force entry to get back in!

The LL has an existing cheapo cat flap. I told the LL that I am happy to pay to get a new, proper one fitted. A microchip one. I just don't want to do it on my own, in case the LL comes back and says that I caused damage or whatnot. Waited and waited.... nothing happened.

The LL is also aware that there are other cats in the area that have been preying on my little ones. On Sunday, I let them out for a bit (always with 100% supervision). Turned my attention away for a few minutes. What happened? Cooper was bitten in the tail. Poor Coopie :( Took to vet on Monday morning, 300 bill. The damn cat comes into the house. With a microchip flap, it can't. I worked from home on Monday (yesterday). Was in study upstairs on a call. It came in again. I heard my kittens moaning/crying. Opened door, ran to stairs, it was halfway up. I reckon it also enjoyed the expensive Royal Canin food.

Loads of issues, even with a new neighbour back in 2013. Their cat comes into our home, but this neighbour, the guy, he comes pounding on my door, shouting and threatening me, telling me to board up my cat flap. My wife was visibly shaken. !!!!!!? Interestingly, he doesn't do this to the other homes his cat visits.

So there! The next time I get messed about, I promise that I will punch that person. That's fine, call the police. I will also punch the police in the face. They have not done anything about my complaints/reports. I will then say, "Eff off. Two words - diplomatic immunity".

That's how fed up I am.

Yup, that's right. I am the clown who was with Detecon before. Then, Wyman. Now, I head and run group strategy for the 4th biggest mobile operator in the world.

Like I've always said.... the English are nothing but irredeemably common.

Whoa whoa whoa are you implying that I'm English because if you are then you are dead wrong.

My first post was helpful. If I were in the same situation !!!!ed off amateur landlord going into the property whilst I was away would be my concern.

The issue at hand is that you are a troll and for that reason I'm out.

I'm English and I'm most definitely not racist, common or even chavvy!

It is crude and crass to imply wealth and class, these are things one shouldn't have to boast about. It should be subtle.

Obviously, you are unaware of how one behaves in polite society.

Legally speaking an email as effective as a carrier pigeon.

In my job a lot of our contractual correspondence is done via e-mail as it is much quicker than post, all of this is held as true and effective amendments to contract if needs be, so in terms of 'legally' you can correspond via e-mail.

I don't understand where an English stereotype of 'chav' or 'common' has come from? I've lived in England since I was 1 and I'm still very much under the impression that the stereotype of us was snobby with bad teeth, or my favourite 'we all drink tea and live in castles' ;p
I might go grease my hair back, quit my job and learn some racist remarks to shout at friends though who aren't English, at least then I'd be 'English'.

You no doubt use corporate emails too.

These are in general private email addresses, proving ownership is difficult and expensive.

I'm not saying emails are useless. But for legal communication between 2 individuals in this sense post is correct.

By all means use email but always confirm in writing.

No doubt ur company scans written contracts and send by email?

I believe I clearly said 'email exchange' and 'receiver accepts notice'.
If tenant sends his notice to quit by email and landlord replies along the lines of "received and accepted", then it does not matter if email service was agreed beforehand.
Likewise if you discuss and agree something in an email exchange, then you have it in writing (obviously).

If you can prove each email address belonged to the person in question. Which is why the email should be noted in the contract. Just simple logic

Oh! dear, isn't it true that if you feel you have to defend yourself as non-racist then someone.....somewhere..........thinks you are? :D

I don't think I'm racist either, but for this OP I might make an exception.
