Hi everyone, interesting hearing about everyone's reads, there is a lovely thread stated by Inapickle called No more buying books.........
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2263095
May see some of you over there sometime?
BTW - I'm not suggesting that we should not mention books here, just thought it might be of interest:D
I have just started my first Harry Hole by Jo Nesbo, not very far in yet (Redbreast)
1 UU A Colgate whitening toothpaste OK, but nothing special so WNBA, only bought it to get the free Nails Inc red metallic nailpolish:o
On the subject of nails, painted mine yesterday with Cirque Lonesome George, it is lovely:D thanks girlybags for the recommendation:AThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Has anyone ever used one of those eyelash growth serums? I bought this one on a flight last year and never really used it; I was pretty sceptical, but I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm starting to think there is actually a difference.

I am expecting delivery of Revitalash in the next few days, I decided to spend some christmas money on it and ordered it from Q*C, if I have a reaction to it I can return it. I hope that it will work I would love my lashes to be thicker and or longer. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Not that I'm enabling but if anyone is a particular fan of Burts Bees lip balm tins there's an offer on the Grabbit board to get one of these free plus a free hand cream with a purchase over £4. and free delivery.
I went on there and put the body lotion in my basket but it was pulling the wrong price in (the price of 2 x body lotion) so I've closed the page and walked away.
Again, why am I looking when I a) really don't need any more lip balm and b) don't seem to like much of the range anyway. *deep sigh* there is no hope for me.
That's exactly the same as me, before I'd have been buying it because it was on offer. But I didn't look because I don't like Burts Bees and also because I am really watching my pennies and I know I have way more stuff that I need.
I do have a couple of OUTs Body Shop set given away as a birthday present.
Also decanted a bath cream into a pump bottle for using as a shower gel. I don't understand what the difference is between the 2 products, surely just the same :cool:Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
Hi All
I've been away for the past week so just sped through the last 13 odd pages of the thread! Belated Happy Birthday VAL and welcome newbies, wedding and anniversary congrats also to others, plus any other birthdays I didn't spot!
A few UU and IN to declare, Feb has been slow but steady for me challenge wise. IN are:
Sure Bright Roll On Deo 50ml - direct replacement of a UU
L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protection Spray Straight Hair 170ml - Another replacement for a UU
Radox Moisture Soak 500ml - I realised although I've still quite a few bath bombs from Christmas I had no bubble bath so got this in HBs for my next soak
That's only 5 IN so far for this month with no expected necessary purchases before the end of Feb :A Just got a new car which I picked up yesterday so has been a very expensive month! As such, I've been making a concerted effort to keep the miscellaneous spending down to a minimum.
UU are:
Boots Extracts Cranberry Body Wash - Love this range but this is my least favourite variant, slightly bitter but still very well lathering - WBA in a different scent
Sure Bright Roll On Deo - HG
L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protection Spray - HG
Lush Cinders bath bomb - WNBA - was disappointed in this one and make yellow marks on the tub, made me laugh though when OH panicked the water was running rusty! :rotfl:
Garnier Moisture Match - This one is a GA to OH, he was complaining he's getting wrinkles and looking old (he doesn't - he just frowns too much!!) but that cream moisturiser got in his eyes so gave him some of this gel to try and he liked it so gave him a 'spare' tube out of the stash - was on a very good offer at Tesco when I bought several in any case
That's me up to date, trying to distract myself from the thought of how many emails will have accumulated in a week at work and how many problems might be waiting! :eek:0 -
Hello everyone, hope you all had lovely weekends. I too am back to work tomorrow after a few days off and dreading the emails....
2 UU to report!
BS vitamin ee bb cream - I use this everyday instead of foundation and feel like it gives a good coverage. I think I have another two in the stash as I only buy it when on offer. Annoying packaging - thought it was empty and cut open tube only to find a large amount left! Some of it dried up before I could use it so binned - such a waste.
Sanctuary body butter - 50ml. WDBA - only complaint was the tub was so small!
Happy with my progress this month - no unnecessary INs!No buying unnecessary toiletries in 2014: currently counting hoard....numbers TBA0 -
For those discussing bee venom, and this may be a bit yuck: Bees have a hook at the end of their stinging mechanism. If they sting a wasp, the hook cracks the wasp's exoskeleton and pulls out cleanly. If they sting a human, or animal, the hook gets stuck in the skin and the bee can't get away without pulling itself apart, which kills it. So it's quite possible to get bee venom without killing bees though they will probably be a bit stressed by it. (I'm an amateur beekeeper)
Since I last posted, in January, I've lurked thoroughly, uu'd 11 items and bought 8. Four of these were my previously HG foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte, in the new formula which I don't like very much. The texture is too thick. So why am I still buying it? I must be brave and try something different in 2015 when I've got through the ones now stashed0 -
UU
Boots cotton pads - WNBA - these were the horrid fluffy ones that make me cringe.
Lush bath ballistic - WBA but was a LE for gene research so cannot.
More ins im afraid
3 garnier micellar water
Clinique Lash power & take off the day cleansing balm - this also came with a free gift.
Elemis bliss capsules - again with a free gift.
4 boxes of Tampax pearl (on special offer)
As is evident I have a real problem with GWP items.
Am finally starting to feel human again just in time for my return to work.No more buying toiletries0 -
Wow, you ladies have been chatty whilst I've been away! Hope everyone's well. I'm off to catch up and will post my UUs later...MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

Thanks for the link - I definitely need to join! I love reading but just don't get through as many as I would like - once I start I can't stop and I simply can't spare the time. I LOVE the Harry Hole series - my first read was The Snowman, which I found very easy to get into - some of the earlier ones are less so, but definitely worth perservering. In a similar vein I would also recommend the Stieg Larsson trilogy and Henning MankellMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0
