No buying unnecessary toiletries February 2014

Have you tried washing with conditioner rather than shampoo? I'm wondering if the SLS in most shampoos is just too harsh for your scalp and is overdrying it to the point of flaking.
I don't use shampoo that contains SLS (well have been for the last 2 weeks but i've had dandruff for longer than 2 weeks). I might try conditioner though, thanks.0 -
Hello all!
3 UU from me:
Boots essential cleansing wipes - WBA as always 3 for £3. Do the job when I've been out late and have no energy to take off make up.
TBS vitamin e daily moisturiser with SPF? I like this! Although sometimes feels a bit greasy so WMBA. Yet to find my HG face moisturiser?
Soap and glory hand food - not that effective for me so probably wouldn't buy again but would use if gifted or in a set at Xmas. My mum was going to town and so I gave her the empty tube and she swapped it at Crabtree and Evelyn for a rose water hand cream. I specified not rose as I don't really like the dwell but this one is not too strong so I'm happy to use. Didn't need a new handcream but a freebie is a freebie :-)
Also gave my friend the sanctuary box with the spa voucher hidden inside - she was excited about the sanctuary goodies let alone the voucher! Went down well and had a lovely weekend with her.
So 3 UU and 1 in. I'm doing well in February :-)No buying unnecessary toiletries in 2014: currently counting hoard....numbers TBA0 -
OH is back, and with him some Elemis goodies from his flight, so IN:
34. Elemis PCMC 5ml
35. Elemis Ultra conditioning lip balm 4g
Perfect sizes for my trip away at the weekend!
Dolly - I'm going to Porto in Portugal, jumped at the opportunity of a city break away with a few of my besties instead of having a lairy pub crawl with L plates and feather boas. I'm sorry if that makes me sound like a snob, I'm not, but I'd be mortified - happy to help others celebrate like that, but not with me as the centre of attention  Then having some quiet drinks next month with my wider circle of girlfriendsMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
I have been using a cleansing gel for a couple of days and thought it was vile, reading the label it does not tell you how to use it so I have been using it as a cleanser with cotton wool. I looked up the product on the website today to find it is a face wash, no wonder my face has been really sticky.

I want the Smashbox palette even more now Val :rotfl:
Still resisting though and no make up bought this month! This is real progress for me. Need to take my car for a service once I have been paid and I am pretty sure it is going to be really expensive, plus I need new tyres:(:(
Your hen do sounds lovely to me Sundaysgirl
Glad your friend liked her spa gift and you had a great time Sophie0 -
City breaks seem really popular now for stag and hen do's, Sundaysgirl, I think it's a great idea if all concerned can afford them.
My son's been on a few as many of his contemporaries settled down - Dublin and Prague were the latest.
Can't see it happening for him any time soon, but I met and married his father within a year.
However if he did what his Dad did and met a 17 year old when he was 31 I would FREAK.
Funny how I couldn't see that my parents' objections at the time were extremely valid...!
I picked up the latest Savers flyer from outside the store today, but didn't go in the shop. Fortunately I'd just been shopping in the discount freezer place and was laden, which probably saved me a fair bit of money - in the toiletries I didn't buy!
Anyway, Savers always have some super buys so I thought I'd share some that may be of interest.

125ml Clarins Exfoliating brightening toner. WBA but have Pixi Glow to use nest.
Took of China Glaze Prism and repainted with Sally Hansen Extreme Night Lights.
Did you notice much difference between the clarins and the pixi during your test maddiemay?
What did you think of the prism? (not that I need more polish - maybe a 2nd helmer).
UU
50ml Elemis apricot toner - WMBA doesnt seem to do much but doesnt irritate either. These seem to be breeding in my stash. No more buying toiletries0 -

I have been using a Smashbox primer sample, but WNB as it feels yucky on my skin (although make up looks great) and have a little Bare Minerals Prime Time. BM seems to be on the Peta list but not on BUAV, any recommendations please from those that prefer bunny friendly products. Skin type dryish, sensitive and quite fine textured.
I'm quite happy if the company is on the PETA list, there are quite strict.
Do you really need a primer? Maybe an oil free moisturiser would work well? Just an idea.Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:
