I have 2 INS today since I received my parcel with Murad 'Intensive' Resurfacing Peel which came with a sample of Illuminating Night Moisturiser. I think I should have studied this a bit more before getting carried away by the 50% price reduction; as I since read some reviews and this is not as intensive as I had thought it might be - it's no more intensive than REN Glycolic or Elemis Tri-Enzyme Mask and therefore represents very poor value for money, even at half price. :(

    Latest balance $266,734
    Reduction: $1,278.45
  • Thanks everyone for the fab advice on my nail polishes. I'm going to throw my top coat away because it's making my nails look awful and I'm not going to try putting nail varnish remover into the nail varnishes - I'm going to throw them away I think.

    2 UUs to report:

L'Occitane 5 Essential Oils shampoo sachet: WDNB because the smell was very unpleasant, and I'm presuming L'Occitane's shampoo would not be cheap.

Radox Stress Relief Bath Therapy: OH used this up last night and WBA because he likes it. I very rarely have baths because I prefer a shower, and OH is increasingly having to have a quick shower rather than a long bath due to working long shifts and we have lots of bath foam, bath melts etc to use up so I'm hoping eventually we can work our way through them all! Friends always seem to buy me bath products even though I never have baths dammit!

Have a great day everyone x
Thank you to everyone who posts on here :)

UU no 4) boots extracts cranberry scrub 200ml. Will not intentionally buy again. I end up with these scrubs as a by-product of the sets I buy in the sale for the body wash and body butter which I love.

I'm determined to work my way through them though and have many more in the stash :/

I like the Boots Extracts range, I have previously bought them in the 75% off sale, but not this year as I had NO INS in January!

Looking for some advice. As many of you on here know I was made redundant just before Christmas. I have not yet found a job and signing on at the job centre.
I received a money gift from my colleagues recently, they asked if I wanted gift vouchers for anywhere in particular but I said I'd prefer the cash as then I can buy what I like (and hopefully find it discounted elsewhere). Anyway I am so disappointed by the paltry amount, in fact when I think how much money I have given to everyone elses collections over the years for weddings, engagements, special birthdays, baby collections etc I am quite upset.
They asked me to come in and take them out for a drink, but TBH I don't want to spend a penny on them. A round will cost more than I was given :( How can I say no nicely?:o
If I found a job it would be easy as I could say I was working but they know I've not found anything yet.

    TIA
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

You must be a much nicer person than me to even be considering how to put it nicely, I would tell them to get stu**ed. Seriously they expect you (redundant) to take them (employed) for a drink. YOU are your top priority and you need to manage your money well more than ever at the moment. Ooh, I feel all riled up on your behalf - hugs to you.

Oh Asset that must suck. Hate it when people show their true colours. Hope you're ok. :(

If you don't feel up to having a straight up confrontation, personally I would go for the time-honoured approach of 'yes we must meet up soon!' and then never set a date. Slowly stop contacting. I've had that done to me lots of times with ex-colleagues (but I swear I always give enough as a leaving gift!).

Or go for dolly's approach. ;) Life's too short to spend it with horrible people.

Asset2004: I'm rubbish at copying quotes but think I'd go for the 'soon' but not-actually-setting-a-date approach too!

    Hope you find work soon.

And I do love the extracts washes and butters, just not a fan of the scrubs!

They should have taken you out for a drink when you were made redundant, not the other way around! If it were me I'd tell them I was too busy looking for another job or as they're all earning they could treat me to a few drinks to cheer me up ;)

Seriously though, I would say "thanks for the offer but it's not convenient for me at the moment. Maybe soon..."

ETA: or get Dolly to reply to them on your behalf :rotfl:

Thankyou Babafette and Dolly84, I'm hoping that it will make her feel a little bit spoiled (in a good way), her family is having some real financial troubles and I would have sent a small cheque if I thought she would've banked it, but this seemed like a nice alternative to let her know I was thinking of her. She loves nature and is always out and about with her camera so I thought the Baby Lips and the tube of body cream could keep her company while she's scrabbling around in the mud :)

You are a wonderful friend missus! :T
    Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

  • UU - Nivea Happy Time Deodorant - I might buy again. I like the smell but still haven't found my HG deodorant yet so I tend to buy a different one each time!

Hugs to you Asset, I would make a jokey comment to get them to take YOU out for a drink!
