  • That's unbelievable Asset, someone without a job can't afford to buy them drinks:eek:

Lots of UU for me today:
    Spa foot lotion
    Extracts pomegranate body butter
    Timotei Vivid Colour Conditioner

Just found a glittery peppermint OPI handcream in an old bag, so that's another on the list
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Returned the Botanics eye gel today without too much hassle, have the refund on a giftcard so going to hide that away for a while.

But when in Boots... I have an IN to declare. Good Things Ultra Rich Creamy Scrub. My S&G scrub is feeling a little empty and this was on a clearance shelf for only £2.
New graduate trying to get debt-free.
    Make £5/day challenge: August £84.08/155
    I owe £5400 (plus £
    34,000 Student Finance)

  • Sorry to hear of your dilemma Asset - ive nothing to add as im rubbish in these situations.

    UU

sachet - estee lauder advanced night serum - WNBA too small a sample to justify repurchase.

200ml TBS Coconut butter - WNBA I used quite a lot of coconut products in January and I think ive overindulged.

200ml TBS Grapefruit butter - WBA one of my favourites.

Looking for some advice. As many of you on here know I was made redundant just before Christmas. I have not yet found a job and signing on at the job centre.
I received a money gift from my colleagues recently, they asked if I wanted gift vouchers for anywhere in particular but I said I'd prefer the cash as then I can buy what I like (and hopefully find it discounted elsewhere). Anyway I am so disappointed by the paltry amount, in fact when I think how much money I have given to everyone elses collections over the years for weddings, engagements, special birthdays, baby collections etc I am quite upset.
They asked me to come in and take them out for a drink, but TBH I don't want to spend a penny on them. A round will cost more than I was given :( How can I say no nicely?:o
If I found a job it would be easy as I could say I was working but they know I've not found anything yet.

    TIA

Oh Asset that must suck. Hate it when people show their true colours. Hope you're ok. :(

If you don't feel up to having a straight up confrontation, personally I would go for the time-honoured approach of 'yes we must meet up soon!' and then never set a date. Slowly stop contacting. I've had that done to me lots of times with ex-colleagues (but I swear I always give enough as a leaving gift!).

Or go for dolly's approach. ;) Life's too short to spend it with horrible people.

Oh you do that too do you? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have an old group of friends, some are still friends, some I wouldn't want to waste any time with as they're either boring or humourless, or both! So I go 'yes that'd be lovely' then make sure I'm always busy lol!

I think it's a bliddy cheek to give you money as a 'leaving present' and then say you have to buy drinks with it! If they were asking you out FOR a drink, fine, but asking you to pay for theirs is unacceptable. I'd tell them something like above or just say you can't afford it, that should sort them out!

Either way, they are earning and you aren't, you're not obliged to these people in any way whatever, so stand your ground.....and run away....fast!!! *pun intended*

Well... speechless.... what shallow nasty evil little $^$£B" your ex-colleagues are Asset. Go with everyone else's advice, don't spend a penny on them. Do you really want to waste a minute more of your life in the company of people like that?

Think of all the nice things you could be doing that won't cost you as much, or anything, rather than spending valued time and precious pennies with those expletive leeches.

A bit of an unexpected UU, the 50ml Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel I won. This only lasted 3 showers; I am quite frugal as I have a mahoosive shower puff that makes lashings of foam, so hmmm.

WIB? No way, this worked out at over £1.50 a shower! I usually make a point of not spending more than £1 on my OS gels and creams. It was lovely, but it wasn't THAT lovely.
I realise some of you probably spend a lot more, but OS stuff is so nice that I don't usually look further. This hasn't stopped me entering lots of competitions in the hope of winning stuff though.
UUing a Rescue Oil as moisturiser at the moment to try and get shot of yet another little bottle. Very good stuff...

mcculloch29, I'm sorry you were so disappointed in the rituals shower gel; I started a full-sized one at the end of October and I only finished it this week  I wonder if the one you got wasn't filled correctly? Either way, I'm not surprised that it's put you off.

    Thankyou luvlycake ;)

asset, I think you have had lots of good advice already but that doesn't stop me being incensed on your part! Good luck in your job hunt.

    I have a uu

Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath - 400ml, I love the smell of this and it makes the water nice and soft but it is almost £40 a bottle, all of mine were gwp (I have several more) and I would never pay that for bath milk. It can be used as a moisturiser too which makes it better value but still a crazy price.
