No buying unnecessary toiletries February 2014

I also have a Yankee Candle addiction and a thing for nice stationery. I can spend literally hours in Paperchase looking at pretty notebooks.
To get back on topic, I have my first two OUTs for February! Both UU in the shower this morning:
Kerastase Specifique Bain Exfoliant Hydratant Anti-Dandruff Moisturising Shampoo 200ml - WNBA as it was ridiculously expensive (note to self: don't get suckered in to the girl in the hairdressers trying to sell you stuff again) and seemed to stop working after about six weeks. However I did like the bottle design - it was quite compact and had a nozzle but you had to twist the lid to be able to get the product out, so was very good for travelling.
L'Oreal EverRiche Shampoo sample - WBA as it smelt nice and my hair feels very soft after using it.
I have a Herbal Essences Bee Strong shampoo and conditioner sample to use up on my next hair wash so once they're gone I'll hit Boots to get more shampoo and conditioner."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

My top coat is quite old now and is starting to go all stringy and leaves bubbles all over my nails when I've applied it. I also found that lots of nail varnishes start to go the same when they're old. A while ago a friend told me that if you put a very small amount of nail varnish remover into the nail varnish, it will solve the problem. Has anyone else tried this?
Thanks
There are a number of polish restorers and thinners on the market which might be worth a try including OPI Nail Lacquer Thinner as Val suggested, Poshe Polish Reviver and Seche Restore. I have a bottle of Seche Restore but haven't had to use it yet so can't comment on its effectiveness. They are all a little on the expensive side, but a bottle will last you years.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -

Don't take my word for it; I Googled it and found some reviews from a couple of people who thought the shower creme was amazing!Although I have another bad review from the same brand below...Maybe yours will turn out to be a better batch than mine.
Another UU today - Beauticology Candy Swirl Body Scrub. WNBA. Someone should set Trading Standards onto this company for calling this a body scrub! It has the texture of shower gel and is totally ineffective. Almost zero scent to speak of as well. If you're thinking of buying this, I definitely wouldn't bother!Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

It's such a shame you have to get them dirty again now.
Upsy Staff - I wouldn't really want nail polish remover in contact with my nails for that long, mine are prone to peeling and I'm sure it would aggravate it, I would go with a specialist thinning product.
SarahB1989 - the Beauticology stuff is made by Bayliss & Harding so no surprise it is rubbish.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh, I've been using a beauticology gingerbread shower gel and I'm loving the smell of it. (Although it's not very lovely at cleaning, but it does the job)
UU no 3 (I forgot to report this yesterday)
Lush The Comforter bubble bar. WDBA. This is a HG item for me, but I have 5 in my stash for now (bought in Boxing Day sale)
I've started on the penguin bubble bar
I have, however, sinned AGAIN! 2 x lip balms (50p each in Home bargains) cherry Pepsi and vanilla berry Pepsi or similar.
Along with toiletries in general, I definitely have a lip balm addiction all of its own!
Another IN today is balance hyaluronic youth serum.....it arrived today from amazon although I bought it in JanNo more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80 -
I washed my brushes at the weekend, yucky yucky...so glad I did it.
Just wanted to share something that has helped my buying habits. I'm against animal testing in cosmetics, so I checked my brands on the PETA site. Not lecturing, just suggesting.Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

I'm trying to go cruelty free too. I printed off a list of all cruelty free companies so will be trying to shop from that on future purchases. The main 4 supermarkets own brands and Superdrugs own branded stuff is all cf so shouldn't be too hard reallyNever say never0 -
Hello ladies and a warm welcome to the lovely newbies
I am obviously back in for another month, those 34 shower gels didn't just disappear last month! I had a slow month on UU last month so am hoping for a few for February, I am off to have a go at my first PP list to get rid of some stash malingerers for good.
I did spend my No7 vouchers at the weekend, bought eye makeup remover which I don't have a stash of and a new powder compact which went straight into use in my handbag so I'm not counting them as Ins!
girlybags, I was so pleased when SD own brand got the leaping bunny because it meant I could actually afford cruelty free, instead of buying BS or Liz Earle. Although I did buy Herbal Essences shampoo in the £shop, slapped wrist for me.
It's also the perfect justification for buying Urban Decay palettes :rotfl:No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018

An IN to declare: Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh Anti-Dandruff Shampoo sample (free with this month's Glamour magazine). It will be going straight back out again when I next wash my hair though."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
