HR won't have added her to a permanent database, even if they did it would say temp. When I did more generalist HR, I used to get so many requests for references for temps and I always used to respond that we had no record of the employee and that they needed to ask the employee to confirm what agency they had worked through and approach them. Guess your formal feedback won't be complimentary.
We've actually liaised very closely with the agency, who I know quite well, and we use them on a regular basis. The agency are appalled by her behaviour and have spoken to her on many occasions since she's been with us. The main problem is that for this particular project there were 2 weeks intensive training, when she had no time to text, phone, vanish for hours, etc. The contract was fixed term and finishes in a week. The agency have already told me informally that they won't be placing her anywhere else, but unfortunately due to the training, etc we're stuck with the damn woman for the next week0 -
If it's causing you that much of a problem just send her home for a week's paid leave until you're rid of her0

You sue you are not making all of this up?Caroline_a wrote: »Thanks all. Went from bad to worse last week. Threw a total strop because I pulled her up on being half an hour later. Then walked out.
Needless to say she won't be getting a reference....0 -

Nothing about her company policy or how to deal with breaches of it, only is her company unusual in having such a policy.
As you say nothing about company policy, so how can she be asking if her company is unusual in having such a policy ?
She has said that using a mobile is frowned upon but that is different to having a company policy, which as a multinational corporation I am sure they would have.0 -

I am stunned that a multinational corporate company would tolerate a Temp, even if they have had "2 weeks training" if they actually had such a bad work ethic and I am stunned that said company tolerates management that have not taken action to get rid of someone if they were abusing the position and was as disruptive as described.0 -

not nice I guess to be sacked but someone in charge via the agency should have told her mobile phones were not allowed whilst at work.
She was told repeatedly, by the agency, my colleague who was supervising her, HR; we had formal meetings where she swore she wouldn't do it again. Not sure what more you can do!0
