It doesn't matter who offered it 1st, and besides only a handful have access to 3 4G at present even if you are in one of the areas with alleged 4G coverage.

Probably best to ring them. I'm not entirely sure how it works for existing customers.

New customers can just sign up and get 4G straight away

It's a good ploy by tesco marketers, after all to get 4G most users will need to upgrade their handsets (and obviously need to be in a 4G area) , as many users can stomach £30 a month rather than say £250 upfront and £12 a month, they will end up selling a 24 month contract.

Did you get a text from Tesco yet? Someone posted on another forum they'll not get charged any extra for 4G from the 4th February 2014.
