Sky Broadband Unlimited Speed?

......Their original estimate was between 2.6 & 7.0.
Previously with BE I was getting 6.3/1.06, so I'm not very impressed with Sky.
Their original estimate looks to give them plenty of "window" to cover themselves so you can't use their 3 month right to cancel "guarantee" should your speed drop below their lowest estimate.
But you do still will have the option to cancel under the "30 day peace of mind guarantee"0 -
Looks like the router has optimised at the usual 7db noise margin.
4-5mbps on a 55db line is what you would expect..
I have found that my SR101 will hold sync down to around 4 db without rebooting itself.
Just had a look this is what I'm getting atm.
............................Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed10255 kbps1023 kbps
Attenuation 43.5 dB 25.3 dB
Noise Margin 6.7 dB 8.8 dBThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

http://www.trustedreviews.com/sky-hub-2013_Peripheral_reviewSadly, though, from here it is all downhill. Quite astonishingly the Hub 2 remains a single band 802.11n 2.4GHz router while virtually all rivals have moved onto faster dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11n routers. Furthermore, the
switch beyond that to 802.11ac routers has already been realised by BT and EE with other ISPs confirming they are ready to follow in their footsteps. Quite simply, Sky is miles off the pace here.0 -
So I see, ho hum, got one of their free signal boosters in anticipation of warm spring days in the conservatory with a reliable connection. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Before anyone goes blaming their broadband, connect your computer with a CABLE to the router, to make sure it's not your WiFi. This is also really important for testing lag, which the OP seemed interested in. If the XBox is wirelessly connected, wired will do better.0
