Sky Broadband Unlimited Speed?

I've done multiple speed tests on my Macbook to test my broadband as i feel it lags highly.
I do understand they can throttle at certain times dependant and what i do but all i do is browse and use it for Xbox Live.
All speed tests online show me i get around :
5MB Download & 3.5MB Upload.
This cannot be right? Im just wondering what other customers are receiving.
Thank you.

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

Something wrong here, if you are not on fibre to the cab, then ADSL2+ max upload is 1.4Mb, so what you quote as upload must be wrong, perhaps you can post your router stats or the tester results, what tester site did you use ?0

When getting a connection from Sky, they tell you an estimated speed. Do you remember what that estimated speed was? I don't know about others but I've noticed Sky underestimate the speed I'm likely to get. They said I'll get download 12 Mbps but I get 17 Mbps0

Log on to your router and post your line stats.
Speed testers only tell part of the story.

Changed to Sky few months ago, non fibre and unlimited download. Sky advised 5 Mbps download when previous BT non fibre was 16 Mbps, pleasantly surprised to now get 20 Mbps download and 1.03 Mbps upload.0

6.02 and 0.67; better than O2 was. BT and others estimate just 5.
I'm 15 minutes walk from the local exchange (used to think that was close) , so non-fibre people getting over 10 must be very close to theirs.0 -

Well it looks as though my DLM has now finished, and my speed is now 5.29/0.54, 3.6km from the exchange. Their original estimate was between 2.6 & 7.0.
Previously with BE I was getting 6.3/1.06, so I'm not very impressed with Sky.Stompa0 -
