I am making an advanced confession in that I may have to visit a hairdressers in the very near future. .........want something ultra low maintenance and with long run low cost… so no bright red for me again (sad face), and no sharp cut that needs high upkeep.

I bought hair cutting scissors and gave my hair a trim last week. Box of chocolate brown hair dye - £5.50. Job done. Could you be temped to the dark side (literally and figuratively) and do it at home..? It's quite liberating! :rotfl:

    Hi all
Spent most of Saturday in bed fighting off a cold, which i didn't have time for as i had pre- booked Sunday night in a hotel in Grantham about a month ago to visit the Easton Walled Garden whilst the snowdrops are out.(saddo) DH and i had a wonderful day, succumbed to the cream teas on offer, had a meal out in the the evening with drinkies, (hic) and miscalculated petrol spend.(forgot to budget) upon our return we popped to the sm without a list, so i think i ve blown this months budget, will calculate all spends later and update signature.

Not much to report. Another SFD today and yesterday was on too. Bank switch finally started and should be complete next week.

Picked up DS early today as nursery said he was poorly. He was totally ok. So used the time home early to do stuff on the kitchen and start a scotch broth for lunches with leftover veg and lamb.

Hi everyone! Been MIA for a while. I have had a few spendy days, as my work wardrobe was falling apart. I thought I'd get a few nice bits so as not to buy again. I have spent around 70 quid in total and although I'd rather not have, I had to do something, as holes were beginning to appear in some items  Together with stuff i'd bought from everything five pounds and these things from BHS, that should do me for a year or two :D

Just a thought. For those whose debt is on a long term balance transfer, do you pay the debt to the card provider, or pay it into an ISA or something, then just get the interest and pay off when balance is due? I used to do the latter. This month i start payment on virgin. I have to deals with them one until end of sept, the other, end dec.Not sure whether to just stick with min payments and get some interest.

Calling you lucky thing getting a spa voucher :) When I pay off my credit card, I am going to treat myself to a treatment. I used to have several treatments a month, and justified it because I don't spend much on clothes, I barely drink and I don't go out much. Obviously it helped contribute to my debt but hoping I can afford treatments in moderation when I am debt free.

luckystarr - the two things that I have found most helpful have been 1.) to pay money towards the debt on payday and try live on what is left (even if I don't always succeed, it is helping loads) and 2.) to meal plan and only buy what's on the shopping list. Hope this helps.

traveller - I considered saving the money in an ISA and then paying it off just before it came off 0% however I find it very motivating to see the totals go down and I am not sure I would have the willpower to leave the money in the ISA.

So the zombies took over my spending at the weekend, although it wasn't terrible considering that I was in central London. My budget is blown but because I have been tutoring and selling on eB4y, I was still able to make another payment off the ccard today :)

I have two lunches and party to go to in the next seven days and about £20 in my bank account so its going to be very tight.

I hope you are all having a lovely evening :)

EDIT - forgot to say, got my car insurance renewal through from d1r3ct l1n3 and it was a few £s cheaper than last year, so was quite happy. However, I went on their website and got quoted over £100 less than their renewal offer (including breakdown cover which differed by £14). Called them up and the person on the phone said, I'll cancel your renewal and you can pay through the website, he couldn't offer me the same price from their own call centre!

Sorry, NSK no, not this time! It was such a mess and in horrible grown out straggly layers and in bad condition (nothing for 7 months done on it and a lot of swimming) and with three types of colour running though it from root to tip with about three inches of natural root. My natural is a light reddy/brown. I don't suit dark. So Dolly84 I took your advice! I popped into the salon for free consultation after a work appointment and came out three hours and £130 lighter... It does look lovely though, and a lot lot healthier and tidier and I have had it coloured back to natural so there will be no roots, with a cut that the hairdresser promised will grow into more styles rather than needing to be cut. I feel much better, but not about the cost. That did include several tubs of intensive conditioner that were on 2 for 1. But the hairdresser saw me coming there I think..:o Hopefully it will be another 6 months before the next appointment so it's not too bad.

It has made some serious damage to the spreadsheet and DH has returned home to tell me that today he bought his friend a replacement snooker cue today as his got lost at our wedding (don't ask). He had asked me if this was ok and I said a begrudging yes, but this ended up being about £100 more than I thought it would be... (£200). I couldn't really complain after just spending what I had on my hair. And our home insurance is also due this month I have just realised. I thought this month would be a good month. Sigh.

So, no exercise and a whole lotta spend... :(

    Hi All,

Didn't get round to posting last night but as I had posted in the morning I'm still on target to post every day to keep me motivated. At least there's one item on target :rotfl:

Yesterday I lost a SFD for £1.45 to buy some milk. Stepson woke up and decided he wanted pancakes for breakfast again so used up most of the milk. Double whammy as I normally only pay £1 for milk but a trip to Asda just for milk was unrealistic. He did offer to pay for the milk but I couldn't take his money. He only visits every couple of months now he's working so it wasn't really that big a deal. Next time we won't make pancakes :rotfl:

Decided I could do without any other bits today. I had planned a small top up shop but wanted to claw back the SFD. The only thing we needed was fuel which was budgeted for so another SFD to add to the total. Lost count a bit but will go through my diary at work tomorrow as it's all written down. How organised am I :T

LTW today as well so all in all a good day.

Luckystarr I would also recommend the meal plan and shopping to a shopping list. This really works for me. OH cannot cope with a rigid plan so ours has to be fluid. I list all the meals I want for the month, having checked what I can make from items in the fridge, freezer or cupboards and we work through the meals as the mood takes us. The only thing set in stone is that if we have a roast then we will use some of the leftovers the following day :money:

Hope everyone is safe and well.

    Chez x
That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"
