Can't wait KC, wonder if there's much of a difference with what we use?I was surprised how little ours was most of the time - tis linked to our actual tariff too se we can see actual prices not just usage - i don't think a background use of 5 or 6p a day is too bad? obviously it's more than that with shower, microwave etc too though.
Finally got round to using 2 of our groupon tickets at the cinema yesterday :j Only had them since September :rotfl: We've still got 3 left and only 9 days to use them in! :rotfl:0 -
Hope you use the other tickets!
Not managed to find a screwdriver yet to take off the panel so I can insert the batteriesOkay, I was going to do some cleaning while I waited for the kettle to boil :coffee: I'll get that screwdriver instead

Grrrr - found a screwdriver for the ***tiny*** Phillips heads - two are half undone, I'm in danger of destroying the heads of the other two! And my shoulder and fingers are hurting now
I think an "Annoyed of Tunbridge Wells" (so to speak
) email is called for.

Oh dear KC!! Hope you get it sorted soon. I'm quite glad mine came with a plug! (wonder how much electric it uses?? :rotfl: )
Just got my refund for the cancelled Christmas party - £10 back in the socialising pot :j
Also got the annual report for our pensions company round. I'm pretty sure when I was a student we campaigned for this particular pensions fund to switch to ethical investing, but clearly it had no effect as the current list of investors seems to be Shell, HSBC, Nestle, GlaxoSmithKline, British American Tobacco, Vodaphone and BP - none of whom I'd normally choose to engage with if I could help it!
*must NOT get sidetracked investigating ethical pension funds right now*0 -
I wonder how much! And how does it know how much you're being charged?
Did you programme yours? Haven't tried again with mine yet, I'll do it while a snack's heating up.
Stay away from the "research ethical pension funds" button2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It knows how much I'm being charged because it's all done by wifi between the meter, the box and the energy company - so a bit more high tech than the thing I borrowed from the library which i assume is like the one you've got and tells you how much you've used (but not exactly how much it costs).
Which means I can get direct access to my tariff and exactly how much I've spent :j
and it also means (I believe) that, if they so choose, the energy company could switch me over to having to pay in advance remotely, and cut off my gas supply without even coming to my house
I *think*. Don't go quoting me on that one! I assume there's some law against doing that type of thing without notice or good reason! There's nothing on the actual meter for me to read any more - it's just a pin code keypad thing, all very high tech.0 -
Evening :hello:
Just got in about 20 mins ago, worn out! Went straight from work to visit a pal in hospital, and then walked back up the hill.
Mr Cheery has left me a nice fritatta:j :j So I'm just boiling some potatoes as I'm quite peckish and would also like to take some to work tomorrow for lunch :j
Quick sort through the budget - bought friend some biscuits and have added some more to the small change pot :j I know I keep raving about itbut I've set up a line on my YNAB things for what I add to the small change pot, £2 coin pot and 20p pot - sounds fernickity but it's really helping me keep track - and making me realise why I sometimes find myself running short when I try to do envelopes, NSDs and chucking in all those small change pots at the same time
Between small change, 20ps, £2 coins and the Virtual Savings Pot, I've swiped off £17.59 already this month  Which explains (a) why I've sometimes felt money just slides through my purse without touching the sides and (b) why I'm always surprised when I count up the change at how much there is:rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, while I was ferretting round I decided to swipe another £100 over to the ISA money to make it up to £2500 saved in there this year :j :j :j Very pleased about that!
Of course, I can't actually put it in the ISA yet as I managed to lock myself OUT of internet banking before I'd even set the damn thing up yesterday and Triodos only open working hours so I can't ring them up :rotfl:
One of the many reasons why I value my Fridays off:rotfl:

Evening :hello:
How nice to come home to a fritattasorry to hear about your pal tho.
You're doing so brilliantly at getting all the information about your money and where it goes - £18 is a lot to not touch the sides of your purse, as you say :T
I still haven't been able to switch the monitor onso I'll have to wait a couple of days to find a big strong person
to do it for me.
Enjoy the rest of the eveningand, erm, phoning Triodos tomorrow
Nightie night2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Night KC
And thanks - pal is in a much better condition now they've removed 10 fybroids from her insides  She'll be a bit sore for a while mind
Energy company just sent me an automatically generated 'tell us about your smart meter installation' questionnaire :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Their email said 'Thanks for giving it to us straight – we know you will.' :rotfl: :rotfl:

Blimey yes, thats a **lot** of fibroids
poor thing.
Please, please please give it to your energy company straight :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: it could make it all the way to board level as an example of what problems there are out in the field2023: the year I get to buy a car0
