We did indeed have a lovely holiday, thank you! :j :j

I'm afraid I didn't keep track of spends... :o But it wasn't toooo bad

    £38 diesel
£183 for 3 nights B&B (and we had an ace room with a fab sea view :D )
£24 for a curry one night
£9 for the metro into Newcastle
£24 for us both to get into the Bodyworlds exhibition :D (the whole point of going!)
£13 on books in a fab second hand bookshop on the way home :o

Ok, that's a little bit spendy... but not too bad. Other than that a few little cafe trips (mostly just for cake or a sandwich) and most evening meals/lunches we ended up doing a bag of salad and some quorn ham and fruit for pudding :rotfl: We know how to live! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Should go back and add up at some point, and do some reconciling of bank accounts... but not right now, I'm tired! Maybe at the end of the month, which is shockingly close...

    Today....

Ran over to my chicken keeping course this morning :D:D LOVE the lovely chickens :D:D Have to work out a plan to buy a new house (for me) RIGHT NOW so I can fit them in the garden and save money on all their lovely eggs :money: :D :rotfl:

Not sure that's entirely the idea... :rotfl:

Ran to the park after that to meet a friend (can you tell I'm getting slightly panicky about my lack of marathon training?! :rotfl: ) Spent £9 on buying us both a baked potato and chilli and a cuppa - much needed after all my running!

Later 35p on a desperately needed fake mars bar :o :rotfl: and 60p meeting donation.

SO much need to sort out finances but yet again soooooo tired... :o:o Will do it this week, I promise! :o

Oh dear, trying to make sense of banks before payday and I'm all in a muddle :o :rotfl:

Done so much transferring between accounts and going on holiday and paying for things then getting cash back from Mr Cheery that everything is all over the place :o Spreadsheet (normally reliable) insists there should be over £500 in the current account (needless to say there isn't :rotfl: ) Bills account was right at the end of last month, everything in and out tallies with spreadsheet but total is £174 out (why?!) and long term savings account is £500 down - presumably that's the same £500 my spreadsheet thinks is in the current account but quite clearly we have spent quite a lot of it somewhere along the line :o:o :rotfl:

Ah well. Last week's holiday cost £300 between us, including hotel, fuel, food, museum and cinema trips and treats - not bad at all :j Going to read back and see how many NSDs I did then do a budget ready for tomorrow...

    Hmm.

Been back through this diary counting up spends and apparently I've only spent £152 :rotfl: Quite clearly that is nonsense (although I can't think of anything I did spend that isn't in there!). Perhaps that's right?

Also had 7 NSDs without even trying too hard :j :j and if you count the days I was on holiday that's 11 :D :j (Ah - that's where my extra money clearly got spent - on holiday! :rotfl: )

Ah well, no point quibbling now with only a couple of hours til payday :o Line drawn, next month planning starting NOW :j

    Okey dokey...

Popped (ha!) down to Surrey to visit a pal yesterday :j

    £1 cake on train :D

CAme back today (£3 tea and cake before train, and £7 taxi home).

This week lots of work travel, including an overnight stay (very unusual!). So lots of stuff to go on expenses, but hopefully not much stuff to spend myself...

Back later when I'm sorting banks properly - right now I'm off to tackle the giant landfill site that is my wardrobe! :rotfl:

Well I did a good bit of wardrobe sorting last night :j :j although still more needed and i got rid of so many things that didn't fit/suit that i now have hardly anything to wear :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been at the community allotment this morning and have come home with potatoes, purple podded peas, green beans and blackcurrants :j :j all cheerful and welcomr and made a very tasty FREE lunch :j :j

Planning on house and garden pottering for the rest of the day and maybe a run later so fingers crossed hopefully a NSD... :j :j
  • Ay up Cheery!

So, I had to g00gle 'Body Worlds'[STRIKE]wish I hadn't[/STRIKE] so glad I did :D That is exactly DP's cuppa T, he's watched all of Dr Gunther's stuff on TV. I'm afraid I wouldn't even be able to stand in the same building without going _pale_ I know, a ruddy wimple pimple ain't I? However, did it live up to it's billing - did you both enjoy the exhibits? (in general terms only please, no detail _pale_ :rotfl:)

Your bounty from the community allotment sounds wonderful :D Exactly how many air 'steps' did that produce travel? :D

Hope you've had a cracking Sunday and that the weather is good enough for a run later. I've just caught a bit of the cycling in Glasgow - absolutely bucketing it down, but it didn't stop Geraint Thomas bringing it home for Wales :T Neck and neck for the next two medals, but the New Zealand racer, just pipped the English chap :)

Sorry Greying, didn't mean to make you go  with the exhibition :o We loved it :D Absolutely fascinating, and we both came away with a great respect for the complexity of the human body - and a great desire to treat ours properly  :rotfl:

That produce did not travel many steps at all :D Roughly less than half a mile I'd say :D Quite pleased with my everlasting lettuce in the garden too - although the first lot is starting to taste a little bit bitter now - might have to just bung that in soups and stir fries. It also appears to be harbouring several cute luminous green caterpillars  so at some point the time taken to check for said beasties and remove them is going to outweigh the benefits of harvesting it :rotfl:

So... Did I have a NSD on Sunday 3rd?? Er, I believe I spent £5 on a bottle of cheap amaretto, which I adore, and which I usually get from A*di (which I don't go to all the time), but this was in the local off licence so couldn't resist :D

Yesterday (4th) was nearly a NSD - until I remembered Slimming World :rotfl: Having been at my target (and therefore not paying) for a grand total of ONE week, I have since put on 6.5lbs in the following 6 weeks  and am now paying again until I lose 3.5 of them and get back into the target zone. Sigh. £10 spent there on paying and cereal bars (I know, I know, but I'm travelling a lot this week and it saves me buying chocolate at train stations, it really does!)

I was just going to write 'today WILL be a NSD! :j ' but then I remembered I'm meeting a friend for a cuppa after work, so it jolly well won't be :o :rotfl:

Still haven't done banks and envelopes for August  Need to pull my finger out!

Working at home today for the first time in a fortnight and I thought 'great, that's an opportunity to get some washing done, go for a run, do other little things I don't get chance to do when I'm on fieldwork' but of course too many of those and you're not really 'working' which is the whole point of the day... :o :rotfl: Still, I HAVE done some washing :j (and even hung it up!) and I WILL go for a run at lunchtime :D Promise :D

In the meantime though, some scary phone calls to make...
  • Hope the scary phonecalls were OK.

    :D
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

'scary phone calls' are turning into much annoyance that people aren't answering the phone, or doing what they said

Think I might start to think of them as scary phone calls for the person on the other end, not for me  :rotfl: :rotfl:
