I try to get first target every day, to get the bonuses for consecutive days. Best if you can get a survey which helps a lot, and I do manage one to complete most days, though I get screened out of a lot. I have videos on my phone to the daily limit of 10 points, I play the games to get 10 points each day, do the daily tasks and search using their system, it does mount up and I tend to do it if I am watching TV at the same time, the swagbucks thread on here gives a lot of information and I found it very helpful when I first started, I have referred a few people but they aren't that bothered and I think they have gained me a total of 28 points between them:rotfl:0

...just cause you could have does NOT mean you should have!
...sometimes it is well worth the cost to have something done by someone who has the expertise! Saves you the stressin'out!!!
PS - my YNAB is up to date too which reminds me that OH no longer gets a paycheque & we will have to draw on his retirement fund from now on - must get something regular set up so that I don't have to think about it each month!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks TDQ
You've inspired me
I've now exceeded my first goal for the day - need another 19 points for the second goal which I won't manage now (although, darn it, I *would* have managed it if the takeaway we ordered online hadn't been declined
:rotfl: ) Ah well
Will try again tomorrow (the points, not the takeaway!)
Just signed up to some free online course thing and got 60 points :j
:rotfl: :rotfl: RTGosh, yes, best get that bank transfer automated :j Does it feel a bit weird not having that dosh coming in?
Think I'm going to have a look back at the past couple of years of spending in preparation for uber frugal month :eek: Will report back. Not tonight though - tonight I'm just winding down after finishing work - off til 9th Jan now :j :j :j
We did just have a takeawayOrdered online but it was declined - that's usually because the delivery driver is far too busy - and when I went to pick it up myself yep, he was there, dashing in and back out again :rotfl: Poor man. But it did mean it cost £2 less
although it was still a takeaway
:rotfl:
No more of them in January!
Quite stuffed now, must stop eating0 -
Evening :hello:
Christmas shopping us all donegood job :rotfl: I left town about 3pm today, but it wasn't as hectic as I'd feared, barely any queues and everyone was festive. Even got a couple of bargains as sales had started already :eek:
Had an evening of wrapping under the tree wth some festive tv :j most lovely. Feel properly relaxed today, moreso than I have for weeks. Even made a curry! :j and enough to spare to take with us to family on Boxing Day too :j
Just running a bath, and while it cools (I keep forgetting we fixed the cold tap :rotfl: ) I'm going to run the hoover over the new carpet and put our brand new bedding on :j Not had new bedding for literally years, and current stuff is covered in paint and ripped from nails etcI tell you we've been almost feral for months
:rotfl:
New stuff is from Wilko so not tooo expensive and it's white :eek: previous was dark red :rotfl: but that looks outlandish with new paint schemehopig we can keep it relatively pristine til we have the estate agent photos done...
Anyway, Merry Christmas to all you lovely folks, and thanks for popping in and saying hiI love havig this space to waffle in, and always feel honoured to see you lovely lot too
I hope you all have the Christmas you desire (rather than the one you deserve
:rotfl:
)
I'll be at home just with Mr Cheery :j no plans, other than lunchSadly heard this evening that the lady over the road had a stroke and is in hospital
so we'll keep an eye out for her husband and will pop over with a card in the morning and make sure he's ok if it looks like he's on his own.
Festive wishes to all xx0 -

Thanks RT :j merry christmas to you and yours too :j :j :j
Lovely restful day herelie in, reading, yoga, leisurely lunch, nice walk, popped in to see a friend who lives on his own, and now I'm about to pop out for a quick run to look at the fairy lights :j
Hope you're all having a cheery one :j0 -
Just popping this here while I think of it...
Fixed energy deal is coming to an end and I was thinking of switching. Another company has offer for similar tariff with £50 voucher for switching :money:
HOWEVER, it's just dawned on me that we have a smrt meter, installed by present company. Looks like new conpany don't use the same tech, so would likely need to install their own smart meter. BUT when this one was installed, incompetent engineer cut off the gas supply, saying our boiler was unsafe :eek: Our regular engineer confirmed (as expected) there was nowt wrong with it, it's just ancient and doesn't meet *current* requirements - which it doesn't legally *have* to meet
I'd rather not go through the same palaver again just as were about to move :eek: I'd imagine new folks will want to replace boiler anyway as its so old but I'd really rather not have to do that on top of everything else! :eek:
So I think we'll just fix again with existing folks (will check if that ties us into some kind of penalty if we move but hopefully not)
And now I realy must stop eating chocolate money and thinking about the gas bill and GO TO BED!:rotfl:

Evening :hello:
Having a lovely Christmas week here :j Lovely day with family yesterday, and then today I packed a picnic and some spiced hot chocolate (a la Greying) and went for a lovely nine mile walk, all by myself, no fussing, no driving, just straight out the door :j
(I did get Mr Cheery to pick me up at the end though as I ended it at Arg0s buying a kettlebell and wasn't about to walk another 2 miles home carrying it :rotfl: )
Operation Don't-Renew-The-Gym-Membership is going well so far:rotfl:
Got a friend coming round for tea so I'm just about to conjure up some food out of thin air as we have very little in the cupboards :eek: We definitely do NOT overcater for Christmas in this house :rotfl:
Oh! And I made a pan of split pea soup this morning - literally just split peas, stock cube and bay leaves :j Most lovely, but I've stashed it in the freezer in a bid to build up a bit of a 'pantry' so I'm NOT breaking into it for tonight!
should be able to rustle up something - I've got
Carbs - rice, pasta, noodles
Protein - red lentils, split peas, green lentils, chick peas, brie in the freezer
Veg - er... potatoes... sprouts....
Oops, she's just barged in through the open back door! :eek:0 -
Hee Hee - Happy Conjuring!
(I love a friend who barges in - the best kind!:D)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! So do I RT! :j :j
Well, we considered a takeaway... but then instead I knocked up a quick stew - red lentils, potatoes, and a rather yellowing head of broccoli that was stuffed at the back of the fridge :eek: And we had one part-baked baguette left in the freezer, and a bit of brie that someone had brought round for our Christmas do last week, so in the end it felt like quite a feast :j
She ended up staying over, and has only just left, so I made quark scones for breakfast with two of the 4 tubs I bought on Christmas eve, reduced to 10p each :money: Used
this recipe
but didn't have an egg so just left it out and added a bit extra milk. Possibly a bit too much as they were a bit squidgey for Mr Cheery (fine for me though). Not a bad way of using up a giant mound of raspberry quark, should you ever find yourself with a surplus... :rotfl: :rotfl:
Today, no plans :j :j Had a nice leisurely breakfast with friend and Mr Cheery, but they've both gone out now. I need a bit of a plan lest the day just drift away with me...
* put washing on
* kettlebells exercises
* YNAB
* dig bike out of cellar
* dig bike lights out of cellar and investigate what I have/need
* possible trip to bike shop to spend voucher if I need extra lights
* possible bike ride? Tis a lovely day for one! :j
* hang washing up
* blog post
* ring friend about new year
That'll probably do I think :j
Hope you're all having a jolly day0
