Evening :hello:
Not much to report as usualDone lots of pondering today. Last day in the office although I'm working at home tomorrow and Friday too. Mr Cheery joined me for breakfast at work so that was £5.30 from the treats budget, and I bought yet another pizza on the way home...
I've been putting all my food into My Fitness Pal for the last 3 months so theoretically I could look back and see how many pizzas I've eaten, but :rotfl:
Registered to have the secret survey site pay out by paypal :j already cashed in some vouchers for a present but I've got £24 left and did another survey today :money:
Been thinking about frugal January... think I might try to g et to grips with cashback  I've always had a ridiculous mental block about it!But I need to sort out the energy bill and the house insurance in Jan so maybe this is ideal time to start! :j
Oh! And something has happened to my phone and it's not connecting to the wifi  it can *see* the wifi, but it's not recognising the password. Been playing up for weeks but I thought it was cos we'd moved the router downstairs and it couldn't pick it up but now it's not working altogether. Must investigate - I've used over 80% of my phone data and there's still a fortnight to go (same thing happened last month)
Anyway, just realised I've made 11 posts in a row in the last week just talking to myself so should probably shut up for a bit!0 -

That's an odd thing with the wifi - obvious I know but have you switched it off and back on again (the router at home)? Also try resetting your phone, and getting it to "forget" the network so you can start again?
I know exactly what you mean about the Christmas present buying - I struggle like mad these days to imagine what anyone might want - so much more helpful when they provide a list, or at least a strong hint! :rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hello ladies :hello:
I know I'm not just talking to myself really, just late night tired grumblingI waffle on a lot on the internet and sometimes use it as a bit of a dumping ground for what's in my head - I know full well I'm not really engaging elsewhere on here at the minute and I will get to grips with that again soon!
lovely to see you both anyway
:rotfl:
I'm going to try sorting the wifi while I'm off over Christmas EH, and will indeed do all those things. I haven't actually tried to fix it yet short of turning the phone off and on...:rotfl: so many nore things feel more urgent at the minute!
Working at home today and had to clear a space first as I've barely done it at all this year  think I mostly prefer the office, especially while the house is this much of a tipStill got no bathroom door and we've got folks coming round for festivities tonight -Mr Cheery is talking about putting a curtain over it  I'm staying out of the way - having taken the door off and then been unable to replace it myself I don't feel in a position to comment...
:rotfl: :rotfk:
Good bargains in @ldi the other night - 19p each for bags of spuds (2kg maybe?) Carrots, parsnips (1kg), sprouts (500g) and brocolli :j stocked up and that's most of christmas dinner sorted :rotfl: :j
Think my last christmas shopping trip will have to be Christmas Eve  Very close to being done now I think, thank goodness! :j0 -
Right, finished work for the day and now have 47 minutes until advertised start of party  :rotfl: House still looks like a tip, and bathroom still has no door, and Mr Cheery has gone to bed for a nap :rotfl:
Fortunately most of our friends aren't too great at timekeeping so I'm not anticipating any early arrivals.... :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Morning :hello:
Well we had a lovely time in the end :j :j Plenty of folks, a few kids, and an impromptu crafting session in the front room under the Christmas tree :j :j
Had to get up early for the carpet fitter - we'd asked him not to do us first but they didn't have anyone else booked in and wanted to finish at lunchtime :rotfl: Currently lots of banging going on upstairs  But at least the party is all tidied away now :rotfl:
Inventory of leftover/acquired food
* 2 bottles of (opened but barely touched) wine (one red, one white)
* 1 bottle Gluweien (or however you spell it - this is one of four we bought from @ldi instead of mulling our own wine - £3.50 a bottle and most tasty :j )
* half a wheel of brie - now in freezer
* half a stollen - now in slices in freezer
* dozen mince pies, now in cake tin
* half a pan of lentil soup (I made, and we can have for lunch)
* 4 part baked baguettes :rotfl:
* load of peanuts, which will nicely contribute to our nut roast thing for Christmas day :j
All good
Just done YNAB - thought I was doing well but I have £63 unaccounted for   Suspect Christmas shopping is to blame, and maybe when I'm wrapping I'll remember what I've spent it on
Going to have to get to grips with that - can't be having that in Uber Frugal January!
Right, carpet fitter is here so lots of banging going on - just what I need this morning :rotfl:

Carpet fitter's done already! I commented on him being so quick, and he said 'you've got gaps under your skirting board, that makes it dead easy - you could have done it yourself' :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, I've never had new carpet anywhere beforeIn fact, much of this house hasn't got carpet at all :rotfl: It's proper spongy
And there's a big pile of leftover carpet (I measured it myself, they didn't see it before today so I suspect they overestimated in case I was wrong). Hoping that might come in handy somewhere else - wonder if there's enough to do the landing?!
So, £300 all in  so nowhere else in the house will be getting new carpet  :rotfl:
That's it for decorating before Christmas now :j :j0 -
Just spoke to sister who has signed up for Sw@gbucks on my recommendation - except that I neglected to send her the referral code which would have got me $5 AND 10% off anything she earns for life  Idiot. She's already up to 1200 points after just 3 days! That's more than I've earned all year, having completely ignored it
:rotfl: Going to get to £5 before the end of the year so that will mean
£10 Sw@gbucks total pay out this year
£40 secret survey site (£15 vouchers, but have now set it up for paypal :j )
Not too bad, considering I've mostly ignored Sw@gbucks after an initial flurry of activity :j
Getting on the case now though!0 -
Cheery don't often log in just read without logging in but I can't believe I didn't sign up for Swagbucks till MSE did an offer earlier this year, I have earned the best part of £200 since April, it is certainly worth keeping up with it, especially if you will be needing stuff for your new house. I have certainly done lots of Christmas wrapping, and some pressies using the SB vouchers0
-
Yay, hello TDQ! :hello: Not seen you for an age
Hope all's well
£200 in a year?! Crikey, that's very impressive!! What do you do mostly? I've just tried a few surveys - wrote down what time I started each one, how many questions, how many points earned... in 20 minutes I started 9 surveys, answered over 60 questions, presumably gave 9 different companies my date of birth, where I lived etc - and got screened out of every single one and earned about 3 points
Don't really think that's a productive use of my time!
So I'd love to hear how you've done itI've now set the search as my default search and have already got 15 points that way in the last half hour :j :j Maybe that's the way to go! How did you do it? Very impressed!
