Thanks Starnac, I'm pretty excited :D :rotfl:

Just been and bought a new pair of running shoes - much needed as mine are ancient and poor foot not helped by that. Got 10% 'parkrun discount' :money: (but would have got 10% off through work anyway - wonder if they just find a reason to give everyone 10% off?? :rotfl: )

Anyway, that took them to £99   I'd best bloody win the half marathon after that!!

Going to count £2 coins in a min, see how much that covers... and I've got £30 I think in my account with the secret survey site so I might use that to contribute, so that'll make it feel slightly less shocking... :o

Going to put running kit on so I can't wimp out of taking them for a test run as soon as Mr Cheery leaves :j :j

    Happy New Shoes Cheery! :T

You've reminded me too - I've not had anything through from the super secret survey site for ages. Must log in there and see whether that prompts them a bit!

I only signed up this year I think and have done everything they've sent on the same day so have had a bit of a flurry. I think they've changed it so you have to do things they day they send them now!

    Phew, what a day!

Started a new task at work that'sgoing to occupy my days (and probaby my nightmares) for the next 6 weeks. I'm allocated 15 mins a time and it's currently taking me over an hour :rotfl:hoping to get significantly faster once I get the hang of it. Simultaneously interesting, frustrating and terrifying :rotfl:

Then did a brick session at the gym - 5 miles cycling followed straight away by a mile on the treadmill. Trying to get my poor legs used to it - triathlon is in 4 weeks!

Achey and tired now but it's diploma night and I vowed to work on it for a couple of hours every Thursday... Mr Cheery has gone out and I'm also eyeing up the holes round the edges of the landing ceiling which need bodging with some bonding plaster before I plaster the walls or paint the rest of the ceiling...

Figured I'd run a bath as I STILL haven't fixed the cold tap :o so you have to run the bath at least an hour, if not more, before you want it to let it cool down :o :rotfl: or stand throwing jugs of cold in from the sink which is very tedious. However I misjudged it slightly as the hot water hadn't been on as long as I thought, so actually the bath is the perfect temperature RIGHT NOW :rotfl: :rotfl:

Obviously I'll get in, would be a complete waste not to :D But I can't imagine I'm going to want to plaster the ceilig once I'm in my nightie, and I imagine knitting and tv is going to seem more appealing than diploma work by then too :rotfl:

Just a small insight into my slightly haphazard day :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you're all being more competent :D

    Bath - tick!

Bit of polyfillering in my nightie - tick!

(Er, I was polyfillering the wall, not inside my nightie, you understand  :rotfl: :D )

Bit of progress on diploma stuff - tick!

List of decorating-related things to do at the weekend made - tick!

I'm counting that as a success :j Although I could have done with being asleep about 3 hours ago :rotfl:

Ooh,and I finally acquired a new password for my Triodos ISA internet account - apparently I haven't logged in for a year :o :rotfl: mostly becsuse I keepbtrack in YNAB of how much I put in, and know I haven't taken any out!

Anyway, turns out we've had £89 interest :D :money: Very nice :)

Not opened another one for this year as this is a 30 day notice one, and I'm trying to save the house moving dosh in an instant access thing, but thinking about it, there's likely to be an instant one with more interest than the bank savigs account. Although I'm pretty sure the rules changed and I paid no attention :o Must investigate, but not now!

    Thanks Mila :hello:

Indeed RT! The problem with this is it's entirely for fun and is self paced with no deadlines whatsoever :rotfl: and I have many other priorities :rotfl: But a bit at a time adds up (eventually...)

Just updated my gym list - down to £11.43 a visit now :j :j :D :rotfl:

Sadly my gym membership doesn't include swimming (for the perfectly good reason that there isn't a pool...). Going to experiment with going to the one at the posh school up the road which is open for an hour at lunchtime. I've been before for lessons but never just for a quick lunchtime swim. Best get some work done first!

Have a good day all :j

Well I *did* sneak off for a swim and it was cheerful actually! :j :j Wore my swim cap which meant I got away without washing my hair after :j :j From desk to pool, swam 700m (more than triathlon distance), changed, back to desk within an hour :j :j Will definitely do that again :)

Nice weekend for the most part here :) Cheery evening with Mr Cheery on Friday, ran 7 miles on Saturday (parkrun plus another 4), then finished putting the plasterboard up on the landing, and then went round to a friend's house for tea.

Today I watched the start of the London marathon while doing my knitting, then we went to see a house, then round to see some friends. Tired and a bit grumpy now though :o:o

House was cheery :) Really liked the layout and the light airiness, and the sheer amount of windows. Plenty of room for chickens :j Immediate surroundings were nice and just not *quite* sure about the wider area, and the garden was surrounded by really high trees - not bad at this time of year but you could tell it would be REALLY shady in the summer, and they belong to the neighbours so I wouldn't have control over them. And there were boarding kennels next door, so lots of barking dogs. Hmm.

Quite glad we're not ready to go because I genuinely wouldn't know what to do about this one! Only popped in because it was an open house - didn't go to the trouble of making the nice people tidy up for just us, honest! :o

REALLY want to get this bit of ceiling plastered so I feel like I've achieved something today :o:o Then I might go to bed straight away, I'm *so* tired :o
