Goodness knows - he originally said 10th May when I saw him last week which I thought was quite a long enough wait. Maybe he's busy? Or wants to go on holiday himself? Or is just trying to put me off!
But he'll have to try harder than that :rotfl: :rotfl:
Our tickets were £15 so a price hike, but not quite £79 :rotfl: :rotfl: I was just exaggerating
Anyway, super excited
Finished writing a funding bid at work today. Find it SO hard to ask for money - even though I'm actually required to as part of my job, and also they need to spend this money soon and nobody can think of a good way :rotfl: So I am putting in a requestIn fact I might put in two
:rotfl: :rotfl:
(still feel a bit guilty though)

Evening chums
I *knew* saying that about the car would be jinxing it  :rotfl: :rotfl: Noticed last night that one of the front tyres looks rather ropey - there is still a tread so hopefully it's not the end of the world, but it looks like it needs replacing to me, which means they'll probably want to do both so they're not uneven. Grrr.
Ah well, money is there to be spent, I suppose... and safety on the road is not to be taken lightly!
Rang the garage - apparently they don't do tyres and I think I threw them into a bit of a spin by asking :rotfl: :rotfl: Didn't have chance to further investigate while at work today sadly so will have to do it in the morning. Yawn. Place I've had it done before is right on the wrong side of town for everything I'm doing tomorrow though. Ah well.
Just had a gifted half hour tutorial with my diploma tutor to help me work out what to do next. Seems I've committed to spending 2 hours each Thursday evening (when Mr Cheery is out) to working on the diploma. Wish me luck! :rotfl:0 -
Right, got a tyre place that will do 'fast-fit' (apparently) without an appointment, and is round the corner from my meeting tomorrow morning
Will ring first thing and see if it's worth ordering online (5% discount it says, but not sure if that means I can have it done the same day or not).
Right, diploma - ready, steady.... GO!0 -
Plasterer texted at 6.46am  saying earliest he can do is 5 weeks away... This is one of the main reasons I hate getting someone in to do stuff!! Already been 4 weeks since I contacted him so theoretically I could try and find someone else but in reality I doubt it'd be any quicker...
Still, there's plenty of other stuff to be done - the only thing that will have to wait is painting bedroom and replacing carpet which won't take long.
And if we're being honest, going on past record, are we really going to get the rest of the house done in next five weeks anyway??gives us something to work towards i suppose!
So i think I'll say yes anyway. Priority today (other than work) is sorting tyres, which I can't do til I get out of bed!0 -
For goodness sake I hate technology sometimes!!
Stupid wireless keeps cutting out, bought new router then wireless behaved impeccably for an entire week :rotfl: Broke again today so figured I'd just swap to the new router. Except the old one is behind loads of stuff under a table in the bedoom where mr cheery is asleep.
Crawled under, swapped cables as quietly as I could, came downstairs, no indication that there's a new router. Read some instructions (on phone internet) saying turn everythig off, anc turn laptop back on last.
Which is fine - except my laptop now won't turn back on, jist showing a black screen with a white cursor in the middle
Bloody thing. Got a meeting in 2 hours and I won't make it at this rate! :rotfl:0 -
Uh oh! And I agree, trying to set up new technology, especially to integrate with existing technology, is like trying to bowdlerise the works of Satan.
Good luck!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Cheery did you try taking the battery out of the laptop (waiting 20 seconds) and then putting it back in before rebooting? My laptop is a cranky old thing but usually will respond to that!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I did in the end RT
and pressed the power button a few times in a strop as advised by some website (not sure they said 'in a strop' but it worked
)
Old router plugged back in and all seemedto be functioning j
Rang tyre place and they wanted to know exact size, but car was 3 streets away :rotfl: now at tyre place but one nut on one wheel was a bloody locking nut so had to go into the garage in my posh work frock and search through all the cupboards and wood for the tip to find the unlocking thing :rotfl:
are the planets out of alighnment or something?! Going to need a stiff drink after today :rotfl: :rotfl:
In the meantime, meeting starts in 28 mins, car currently has no wheels and I'm starting to get peckish - what could possibly go wrong?! :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
