Phew - starting to feel vaguely human again now! :j :j Actually went to work today and stayed for the entire day
:rotfl: Not been hit that hard by a cold for a long time - it was NOT pleasant!!
Not much to report. Cleared out the cellar to shove a load of boxes in - trying to avoid spending a small fortune on storage - how on earth is it SO expensive?! Several places round here seemed to want £30-35 a week, plus insurance  We're likely to need it for 6 months at least so it adds up! Cellar it is if we can!
Ordered my discount card at work today :j Apparently it'll take 7 days so I can't wait for it to book my train tickets else I'll miss the cheaper ones anyway I think. Next time...
Need to look for new car insurance too - renewal folks sent weird letter saying 'our underwriters are unable to offer you a renewal quote, please ring' so I shall just go elsewhere. Not due til 17th anyway. Part of me's tempted to ring and see what madness is going on - but I HATE talking to these people on the phone and nothing in our circumstances has changed so I assume they were just having a bit of a moment :rotfl:
Right, off to book these train tickets! :j0 -
Tickets booked for £30 return through MegaTrain :money: £7 cheaper than the nearest alternative (which involved leaving home at 5am AND changing trains on the way home - no thanks!!), and £20 cheaper than the nearest sensible alternative, so pleased with that!
It'll be a LONG day but at least I can snooze on the train and don't have to do anything the day after!
Right - bath0 -
Bleurgh, still not sorted car insurance - will do that tomorrow. I'm still not feeling too well (and quite hormonal today too
) so just came home from work and straight into pjs
Not even going to tell you what crap I watched on the tv, it was embarrassing
:rotfl:
Mr Cheery on the other hand has been busy - all boxes of books and some other things are now double wrapped in bin liners and in the cellar :j at least 50 boxes down there  There's still quite a lot of stuff *not* in the cellar...but it's starting to make a real difference - most of those 50 boxes were in the kitchen/entrance/living room so the place does feel rather bigger again!! :rotfl: hopefully we'll finish stashing at least the boxes that are already packed and be anle to start getting on with the decorating again after the weekend :j :j
Had an unexpectedly spend day yesterday - met some folks to talk about work and landed up spending £17 between multiple coffees and lunch   so easy to do - and some people do that every day!
Right, I'm in bed so i should reakly get rid of the screen and go to sleep...0 -
You sound like you've been really unwell, Cheery, sorry to hear that. It's awfully late to go to bed, especially if you've got work the next day **wags finger apologetically** - how are you feeling today?
That was good work by Mr Cheery - as storage has normalised, the prices seem to have rocketed

Glad it's not just me then
:j :j
Feeling more human as the days go on :j Feel like my poor brain is coming out of a fog. Today has felt VERY long but I think that's because I spent the morning in one place and the afternoon in another so I feel like I've had two days in one! :rotfl:
My mum and auntie are coming tomorrow to trawl the charity shops for mum's impending trip to Australia. At the minute they'll barely be able to get through the door  I've told them we're not even having a cup of tea here - we're going straight out to a cafe :rotfl:
I could spend a couple of hours clearing and tidying the kitchen enough to find spare chairs tonight - or we could just keep on with getting stuff from round the house into the cellar, which is what we're going to do. If they want to descend on us, they'll have to take us as they find us! :rotfl:
(might just meet them on the street and not let them in at all:rotfl: )

Ha, well we did manage to clear and tidy the enire kitchen last night, it looked GREAT :j
Unfortunately Mr Cheery wrecked it again while we were out this morning, and when we came back at lunchtime we couldn't even walk across without being on tiptoes :rotfl:
Ah well. It was nice while it lasted!!
Lovelh time trekking round charity shops with family. They both bought LOADS of stuff but I just treated myself to a black and white dress, a Country Living magazine, and a small pot of cheery daffsmost jolly
Tired nowMore buttling required this evening though! :j :j So close to being ablebto get back to te decorating :j :j

I thought so
I've such an *ordinary* day, or what previously would have been an ordinary day, that I realised just how much of that type of thing I've been lacking lately. We had tea at the WI cafe, pottered round the charity shops, went to the farm for lunch... ordinary thigs, but I've not actually done that at a weekend for yonks - now it's all packing and painting and DIY.
So to celebrate I bought a Country Living and some daffs, like the old days, and carved myself a tiny space on the sofa
(And then accidentally nodded off for an hour... :rotfl: )
Back in buttling clothes now though! :j0
