Cheery's buttling diary: tea in one hand, plant pot in the other, running shoes on

Just been YNABbing...
I've had to allocate a few things to come out of next month's wages.... (rather than raiding the emergency savings).
Not happy about it, and I don't normally do it, but there we are.
* £40 diesel - normal amount would have lasted us, but Mr Cheery was driving a friend to London and we wanted an accurate cost so we filled the tank up before he went, and again when he came back (they refunded this amount, obviously). So the car is now full again so we shouldn't need to fill up next month at all :j
* £84 my professional organisation - I stumped up for one (at £120) but couldn't quite manage both in the same month so this one is officially coming out of next wagesAnnoying really as I only joined as it was necessary to apply for the job which they now seem unwilling to give me! :eek:
* £9.20 of work expenses - not a problem as this will be refunded in the next couple of weeks.
Actually, that's not as bad as I thought!:rotfl: :j :j :j Only really the professional association stuff, and I'll just make sure I get the most out of that in the next few months by taking everything they offer (which actually isn't much, mostly discounts on ludicrously expensive courses! :eek: )
5 days of the month left, and I'd planned to only go to the office once more (which I've budgeted for) but annoyingly I've had to swap my day from Thursday (which is in October) to Monday :mad: Not a problem of course but messes up my tidy budget! :rotfl:
Wouldn't have been messed up but I bought a 20 trip bus ticket for £10 the other day which I wouldn't normally do - does mean bus trips are 50p each now instead of £1.50 :money:0 -
Morning chums :hello:
Buttling day for me today :j
Did the parkrun this morning - 36.09 (ish) which is good for me at the minute! :j
The rest of the day is HOUSE BUTTLING :j :j
* Washing is on, including sheet so I can change the bedding later :j
* Me washed (in the shower) and nails cut and repainted
* sink/cooker/worktops cleaned, properly scrubbed (including grill pan etc)
* moved big bikes from by back door - not used them all year so they can go in the cellar and the space used by foldy bikes, which we use far more often (and which currently get moved from back door to kitchen to back door to kitchen every five minutes)
Er, that's it:rotfl: But it's only lunchtime!
What else for today?
* big bikes into cellar
* hoover kitchen
* mop kitchen floor
* clean bathroom properly
* hoover bathroom
* put washing away
* put other clothes away in bedroom
* hoover bedroom
* clean round bed
* change sheets
* pick herbs from garden and hang to dry (sage, oregano, rosemary, and maybe some more lavender if there's room)
That might be nicely enough for one day :j0 -
Er, well.... I had some lunch and watched an episode of Fraiser
and then we put the big bikes in the cellar :j Then we got a bit cross at each other cos I was moaning about things being piled on top of the pile of recycling
So now Mr Cheery is buttling downstairs and I am buttling upstairs:rotfl: Wiser all round I think :rotfl:

Oo-er!
Cheery, if you've done that lot this morning *and* the parkrun, you've done extremely well already! Sounds like the bike more is really efficient, too.
Interested to hear that you grow oregano - I do too, though I've never, ever harvested it. Going to go outside for half an hour now, and we'll see if I can fight my way through to it past the hanging webs **quakes**.
Must check my sage plant too ... you're giving me ideas!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:at buttling in different parts of the house
OH rushed around this moring while I was getting ready to prove he could tidy too...
I got a bit grumpy cause everything seemed half done (i.e. - not to my standard)
we got cross and solved the problem by going for a country drive & 'finding' ourselves at the local pottery in their cafe having breakfast...
came back and silently agreed to 'buttling' in seperate parts of the house - i'm doing laundry - OH tackled upstairs bathroom (really well - but I'm not telling him)

oh dear RT :rotfl: Glad you got a nice lunch anyway
I always think it's wise to have no standards at all when it comes to other people doing houseworkToo picky and you risk putting them off altogether! :eek: :rotfl:
I'm doing well today anyway! :j changed the bed, tidied, cleaned and hoovered the bedroom, and the bathroom, and downstairs too :j House is SO much more pleasant :j
Made a nice tea too :j
Got a couple of hours to myself so I'm going to make some jam and finish off sorting the refs on my PhD so I can finally (after nearly 5 years) print myself a proper copy :rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: RT
This latest attempt has been prompted by Pippi but I've been attempting to flylady myself (with varying degrees of success) for yearsOne day it'll stick (maybe...) :rotfl:
Think we might head out for a walk and a picnic today :j :j
Decided I'm going to head back to alimming world this weekAlways feel like I *should* be able to manage my weight myself but having put on 2 stone in less than a year clearly Ican't :eek: Not exactly looking forward to it but I feel rotten and blobby and old at the minute so I'm at least looking forward to feeling better than this! :eek:

Awwww!
I got very blobby in my late 30s, Cheery, and I'd never struggled with my weight before (probably because of all that ballet) and the feeling of blobdom is very unpleasant, isn't it. I think some natural variation on the weight is only to be expected, but 2 stone is probably a fair bit more than you want! I know you love cake, of coursehow about the type of snacky things, I remember you mentioning snacks when you did that budget review recently?
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC
Nope, I don't find blobbidom very pleasant at all :eek: I do expect to fluctuate a bit, but at the minute I'm sailing perilously close to the heaviest I've ever been, I feel sluggish and I've started having to take indigestion tablets as I'm clearly not eating well
Bad news all round! :eek:
Much as I know about healthy eating and exercise, it looks like I'm the sort of person who just needs a bit of a helping handSo Slimming World it is for now - tis round the corner and the lady who runs it is nice at least
I'll pay for 12 weeks up front and try to lose at least a stone!
NSD yesterday :money: Not many plans for today either (still not dressed) Meeting tonight so perhaps a small donation but other than that, I think house buttling tasks again :j
