The HMs sound great. I was amazed when I went to Cardiff a few years ago - all round the harbour being so open and lovely.
You should have seen it even more years ago when we called it the "docks" :rotfl::eek: it is nice now although there are [STRIKE]flats[/STRIKE] apartments flying up everywhere now
Well computer says No! Spider-Man was too much of a wimp to visit me directly and sent an email instead! How rude!! I have another chance in my running club ballot but there does seem to be quite a few of us in that hat now!
I second (third?) the must do something for your anniversary before you move. You'll regret it otherwiseGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Darn it, just lost my entire post! Silly girl - entirely my own fault!!
Anyway - evening chums :hello:
RT - YES, I quite agree being in bed is much betterIsn't it great that we get to go to bed EVERY SINGLE NIGHT? :j :j :j :j Hooray! :rotfl:
Pah starnacSo disappointed for you
Hope you find something else cheery to do instead! :j
Evening KCNot entirely sure how we plan to celebrate in the kitchen - other than a nice cup of tea of course :coffee:
Cheery dayHaircut, then gave blood - most pleased at a free pint of squash, extremely tasty cup of tea (from a machine, no less!) and an orange club biscuit
It was like being at a free cafe! :money: :rotfl: Only had to pay with a pint of blood :rotfl:
Met friend for lunch in the Winter Gardens - see here for cheery pics, I do like it in thereThen somehow found ourselves in Patisserie Valerie (don't tell Slimming World
) then sat in the Peace Gardens (pics here). All very jolly
Then other pal wandered into town to meet me and we spent a pleasant hour sat in the sunshine outside a pub, and now I'm home and fed and pondering interview things
Oh, and I bought my interview outfitMost pleased :j :j Tried on a couple of dresses in the first charity shop I went in, one was nice but needed quite a specific kind of cardi, so I left it and said I'd come back if I couldn't find anything else.
Got round the corner and realised how stupid I was - never abandon something you actually want in a charity shop! Dashed back and the damn thing wasn't there!! Fortunately I had the sense to ask the woman if someone had bought it - turns out they'd taken it into the back and were making it into a window display :rotfl: :rotfl: Very kindly dismantled it for me though :j :j
They kindly let me use their changing room to put it back on again so I could wander round trying to find suitable cardi :rotfl: Found one that would do in M&S for £30 but felt happy leaving that there as there were plenty available - good job too as I then found a perfect one in another charity shop for £3 :j :j
So total outfit:
£9.99 dress (black and white, knee length, Laura Ashley)
£3 cardi
£6.50 John Lewis tummy-holding-in tights:rotfl:
= just under £20 for the lot :j :j add another £10 for the haircut and I reckon that's not too bad :j
Definitely NOT a NSD though  Off to do some adding up but it won't be pretty... :eek:0 -
Ok, YNAB done for today... final tally (just on my spends, not food etc)
£10 hair cut
£21.19 clothes
£9.45 lunch, cake and drinks
£1.80 bus home
= £42.44
Good job I don't have days like that too often - not looking good for keeping my monthly spends budget under £62 (excluding slimming world) :rotfl:0 -
oooooooo - get you - a posh frock!:D:D:D:D:D
Laura Ashley no less!
I bet it will make you feel fabulous & confident - what a great find! I've never had great luck in charity shops but I do trawl through the clearance racks at some of the posh shops and quite often find a deal that fits & suits!
...and on the subject of bed being better - it's calling my name & OH is snoring in his chair so I think it's off to bedfordshire - night night stylish Dr Daff!:)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! Those are great buys, Cheery! And excellent wandering about your city too, actually - loved those pics. Thats it, I'll have to go there, the centre looks beautiful.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

There are certainly some beautiful parts KC! (lots of it isn't quite so pretty, mind you... :rotfl: )
I do look pretty posh in new frock RT :rotfl: Far more posh than normal!! :rotfl:
Not managed a NSD today sadly - bought some insoles to put in interview shoes for £1.39. Not really worth buying new ones as I've never worn these ones (they were second hand) and i very rarely wear this type of shoe at all, but the inside is just a bit too slidey with tights and they won't stay on very well! :rotfl:
Nowt other than that though, oh and a small thing for 90p to go with my sister's birthday pressie
Spent much of the day researching potential new employerAlso arranged to meet someone tomorrow to snag some tips - they're quite high up in the area I'm applying for (albeit in a different field) and will have done plenty of interviews from the other side. Volunteered to help in their garden for a couple of hours in exchange :rotfl:
Best crack on with my own presentation too I suppose :blink:0 -
Good luck with the interview. It sounds like it is the job for you
I'm holding you entirely responsible for having searched runners world events this afternoon and I'm considering running a 10k in a fortnight despite no training for months except an odd parkrun. Maybe it will get me training again and stop me going into hibernation modeMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Ooops, sorry about that Chocforever
SO tempting to go into hibernation mode though, isn't it?! rofl
I appear to have not run today, and also talked myself out of tomorrow's runVarious new-job-related activities which I'm afraid take priority right now!
Think I'm going to take the day before the interview off work next week - probably be fit for nothing anyway and it'll give me an opportunity to finalise presentation, practice interview questions etc as well as relaxing a bit (and panicking a bit) Might go for a nice longish run to wear myself out and help me sleep

Morning all :hello:
NSD yesterday on my personal cash - beer comes from treats budgetThat's two this month :j :j
Not sure about today - meeting old phd supervisor to quiz him about job-related stuff so might have to buy him a cuppa if we go somewhere
Gloomy weather here - hope the sun's shining where you are! :j But it's just the day for holing up in the attic and doing some work(or rather, for holing up on the sofa under a blanket and watching a film, but if I have to work, at least I don't have to go *out* :rotfl: )

I had it in mind that your interview is tomorrow (though looking back at the posts above, I'm not sure why) so just coming in to say good luck! From everything you have said about the job and your reaction, it feels right. Even from 100 miles away.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
