Indeed RT :D We'll gloss over the cash not matching up :o :rotfl:

Just realised we inadvertently pilfered a couple of bottles of half used shampoo and conditioner from Holiday Cottage 2  :o I'd packed my wash bags but left them in the bathroom, then while I was packing the car Mr Cheery went through and collected last bits from fridge etc (but not the bread from the freezer!) and thought the shampoo etc was mine...

Probably worth about 90p in total as they're cheap bottles and were half used when we got there but I'm still slightly embarrassed and considering ringing and confessing :$ :rotfl:

While you are confessing your pilfering, remind them there is a loaf of lovely bread 'forgotten' in the freezer that they can happily enjoy in exchange!

Oh no! Have a hug anyway (((RT)))) Is it financial reasons that you haven't paid it off? If so, you'll get there soon. If it's just time-related, well, it's 1pm on a Saturday afternoon and won't it feel good to log into internet banking now and do it? :D :j

We've pottered round the charity shops (bought nothing) and been to the local WI country market :j :j Went to a very similar one in Holmfirth last weekend which was packed - ours was empty, completely empty! We were the only people in there having tea. Most unusual. Holmfirth one was doing a roaring trade in bacon butties (which ours doesn't do) and of course Holmfirth is much more touristy than we are round here!

Such a lovely day, decided we're going to buttle off on a picnic to a local field :j :j If I stay in the house I'll just be wanting to do some kind of tidying or sorting, and I'll be fretting that the neighbours will start making a noise, and if I sit in the garden I'll just despair at the state of it :o :rotfl:

So instead I'm going to make some of these spelt wraps (quick and cheerful, with AF spelt flour about 1p a wrap :money: ), some boiled eggs and 'hummous' (mashed chick peas and garlic :rotfl: ) and then we're going to take a book and a sudoku and a blanket and lie in the field for a while :j :j Invited a few pals but not sure anyone will come at such short notice but we'll see :)

Well, no pals available but we did knock up a cracking picnic (and I forgot to link to the spelt thingies which are here - and ace).

And then we walked past a our friends' house and they were unloading the car and invited us in for tea and a freshly baked blueberry muffin so all good :j :j

Avoided buying another book in the charity shop - I think my holiday books (the ones that I've read) will be getting packed straight into a box and will probably fill the entire thing  :o :rotfl:

Picnic wasn't that warm and we headed home after a while but I've been sat out in the garden (between two blankets as the sun kept going in :rotfl: ) reading all afternoon which has been Most Civilised :j :j

NOT impressed on getting home yesterday to find the kitchen window double glazing has misted up  They were fitted about 15 years ago and one of the living room ones has gone which is annoying but isn't a window we look out of too much so we've been ignoring it - kitchen is where we mostly sit and watch the world go by so very vexing!

I've been investigating replacement sealed units (which I think are going to be cheaper than I thought, fingers crossed...) but have been informed this is NOT an appropriate Holiday 3 activity (being too much like ordinary DIY) so am going to do something more interesting instead :D

    Evening chums :hello:

Slightly traumatised and tired here after last night - young neighbourinos came back from the pub in a rather exuberant mood at 11 last night - we turned the tv up to drown them out but at 1am we tried to go to bed and could still hear them in the attic  1.30 I texted a couple of them (I have their numbers after the last incidents...) but no response (turns out at least one was at his mother's house, oops!).

So at 2.15 I took a brave pill and marched round there in my nightie  :rotfl: My old boss advised this - saying there's nothing more terrifying for a young lady than a middle aged woman in er nightie on the doorstep in the middle of the night :D While I may not be *quite* middle aged, it had the desired effect  :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not sure who was most apologetic - me for disturbing their enthusiastic rendition of 'Like a Prayer', or them :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been for an amble round a local market town and charity shops today - just bought a floppy burnt orange shirt for £2.50, and lunch in a chippy - how on earth does 2 cups of tea, a chip butty and chips-and-gravy add up to £11.90??

    Morning chums :hello:

Banks done, recycling out, shower had - and remembered that shower is also broken, so instead of staying one temperature it cycles through too cold... too hot.... too cold... too hot... so I have to keep hopping in and out of the spray which makes for a Most Displeasing shower and doesn't set me up in a restful mood for the day!

So tonight's mission - I'm off to a Body Pump class after work with my new cheapo gym membership, so I shall return via B&Q with a new shower. :j :j This one has been broken and doing my head in for weeks so it's about time! :j

Ouchie, that definitely calls for a new shower - especially after a night of broken sleep over the weekend. Which reminds me, my boiler has a fault - I'm using my immersion heater at the moment, oops ...

Can you shower at the gym, Cheery? In any case, hope your day goes well :)

Good suggestion KC, I could indeed shower at the gym :j Probably won't though :rotfl: already had one shower today and that's quite enough :D

Sometimes it does rather seem like there's ALWAYS something wrong in a house. in my case I suspect it's down to lack of attention to what I remember you describing as 'rolling maintenance' KC - we use things til they break then put up with them til we're desperate - by which point something else is on the blink too and it feels like the house is falling down...

Something did in fact fall off the roof this morning  I'm dreadimg going to look :o :rotfl:

On the plus side, first day back at work after a fortnight off - 253 emails and apart from a generic dept request for my annual leave form, they were all circulars or just thigs to read - not a single thing to respond to! :j

Could probably have another week off and nobody would notice... :o :rotfl:

Come to think of it, only 3.5 werks til my next few days off anyway :j
