Not sure yet - most of it went on all those taxi fares the other day! :rotfl: ...

Oops - got so excited by your savings that I forgot about the taxis! - at least you'll break even?:o

Yep, probably just about break even RT :rotfl: Especially as I think I'll be doing buses instead of bike next week which will add an extra £12 for the week

Can't complain though, just spent £12.20 on a takeaway :o:o :rotfl:

Been rather fed up the last couple of days :o Working at home all week doesn't seem to suit me very well, especially not when my main emailable work pal is still on maternity leave (which must be the LONGEST maternity leave in the WORLD, EVER  :rotfl: ) (for me, anyway :o )

On the plus side I suppose I've not really been anywhere so not spent much - except the takeaway of course :o and a small trip to a new local cafe the other day to get me out of the house :o

Still, I'm no longer taking diazepam so I can actually stay awake for pretty much the entire day :j and I've only taken ONE lot of ibuprofen today :j and have only filled my hot water bottle once :j Small victories :D

Quite excited about the weekend :j Nothing much is happening :D Might even whizz the hoover round :D :rotfl:

Ooooo excitement! :rotfl:I'll be doing the same...

Am working from home today as the handyman came round to fix our list of 'defects' - was mortified when he commented that my hair was falling out just like his wife's (tact eh?) - the bathroom floor (being Friday) had not been swept :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

On the upside - we have a new shower screen & shower attachment & he even scrubbed out our bathtub & sink with cilit bang - which I guarantee you were not worthy of a scrub - he was being cheeky!!!!!

Also got the lovely comment that our landlord (who is 80-odd) made him come for the little things on my list as he wants us to be happy & stay for the long-term!

No commute today means I'll be able to do pilates?!? - Have been walking most lunches coupled with the near sprint in the morning & evening from the station to/from work - a good hour of extra movement happening 5 days a week.

RT my hair falls out in handfuls too! I'm so glad I have thick hair or I'm sure I'd be bald by now.

Cheery I'm sure your friend's mat leave is whizzing by for her :rotfl:
Glad you are on the mend. Please try not to overdo the hoovering

Gosh RT, that's one cheeky builder! Nice sounding landlord though :D :j :j VERY exciting having all the little jobs done :j :j and well done on all the walking and pilates too! :j

Starnac, I know my friend is very much enjoying her maternity leave, and is about to just take off for 6 weeks of camping in France :rotfl: I am (literally :o ) counting the weeks til her return to work :o:o I have them written in my diary and everything :o but I am under strict instructions not to tell her how many there are as she refuses to count :D :rotfl:

(she doesn't know about this place though so I can sneakily tell you it's 15 on Monday :o:D :rotfl: )

Having a nice day here :j :j Nice long lie in reading Brave Old World by Tom Hodgkinson, which a love and which inspired me to get up and make some bread in the old fashioned, non-breadmaker way - helped by the bread book I bought for £3 the other day :D

Had a nice time kneading that, and it's actually doubled in size (possibly the first time EVER that bread has done that for me :rotfl: ) and is now shaped into a small loaf, 6 small rolls, and some tiny experimental cranberry whirl things :D Not bad for 30p worth of flour from AF :j :j

Also picked my entire raspberry and tayberry harvest from the garden - then ate it ALL in one fell swoop with some yogurt :rotfl: :rotfl:

Then me and Mr Cheery pootled off to get a key cut, and had lunch in a cheery cafe that he's not been to before in a cheery antique place, that was actually pretty cheap and rummagey (as opposed to expensive and nonsensy, like quite a few of them are round here). Didn't buy anything other than £1 of wax melty smelly things for the oil burner mind you :rotfl:

Then popped in to see a friend, and now home (and shaped the bread) and I'm just about to do a little bit of work on the diploma before putting the bread in the oven (and watching anxiously while it bakes)

Then I plan to EAT quite a lot of it with a nice cup of tea :D Possibly while watching The Waltons :rotfl:

Mr Cheery's got a gig tonight so I shall be doing a flylady Weekly Home Blessing round the bits of the house that aren't covered in boxes, and then some more diploma stuff (and a diploma blog post), while supervising a giant vat of gooseberry jam (eek, forgot I'm going to have to top and tail them  Might save The Waltons for that :rotfl: )

Then I reckon a nice bit of tai chi - back is a lot better but don't want to go overboard with pilates just yet  and my tai chi teacher pal recommended I try that (but then he would, wouldn't he? :rotfl: )

Anyway, the sun's shining and I'm having an Extremely Cheerful Day - hope you are too :D

Oooh - my bread has worked a TREAT! :j :j :j Going to have a hard time not demolishing ALL of it before Mr Cheery gets home :o :rotfl:

Stuffed in 3 teeny tiny cranberry whirl things, and now just 'testing' a roll with some welsh rarebit cheese that was reduced to 49p in the supermarket earlier :D

Must remember I'll be making gooseberry jam later so need to save some for that!

(although actually, my to do list for this evening is already rather ambitious... :o so perhaps I'll save that for another night and just make some more bread to go with it :D ) :rotfl:

    Hooray to Extremely Cheerful Days!!!!

You made bread from scratch the old fashioned way? - Wow Cheery that is mighty impressive!

To call him a builder is generous - he's actually the guy who mows the lawns (with a ride on mower) and trims the bushes with an electric loper... Also does all the odd jobs for the landlord - he's quite sweet actually - I just ply him with coffee and compliments & he'll fix anything! [can't wait to see his wife next time & rat on him though:D]

Star - I'm the same - thankful for genes that gave me thick locks & lots of it!

Me too with the hair - although I do sometimes rather wish there was more on my head and less elsewhere! :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Glad it's not just me :o:D Spent years being embarrassed about it all but starting to care less now :rotfl:

Anyway just been doing YNAB reconcilliation thing  Did everything fine on 17th (Friday) and it seems in between then I've managed to LOSE £20! On top of all the money I've spent and accounted for, of course :o:o Spent a good £10 on my impromptu trip to Chatsworth the other day, £19 on a heavily discounted online course I've had my eye on for a while :o and another £31 on a gym membership offer that came up yesterday - two whole months of unlimited membership for that :j :j

Seems I've currently got £32 in my £2 jar so that'll pay for the gym membership nicely :j :j

But still :o There's now NOTHING in my personal spending pot, and I had to raid the meagre amount I'd saved up for Christmas to make things balance

Still, it could be MUCH worse - there's plenty in the savings account, all relevant pots for annual bills filled, al monthly bills accounted for, and over £600 sat waiting to spend on a holiday cottage (which we STILL haven't booked  ) so really, I shouldn't be complaining at all :o

Not that I'm actually *complaining* of course :o:o Just being shocked at how quickly it washes through my hands given half the chance!

Guess that's why we're all here, right? :o:o

Still - holidays soon :D :j :j :j £600 for cottage, plus we'll raid next month's holiday and no quibble budgets (totalling £150) so that'll pay for diesel and possibly more for cottage as I'm guessing we won't have much choice at this short notice... :o Plus £69.06 in the VSP to pay for TREATS while we're away :j :j LOVE the VSP - it's like free money :D:D
