Thank you lovely ladies! :kisses3:
Still a few twinges now and then, but otherwise all ok no (fingers crossed!) :j :j Hope things stay where they're supposed to for my 13 mile trail race on Sunday  :rotfl:
Just been doing YNAB sorting, not done it for a few days... I've been pretty much keeping up with putting things in the app as I spend them though, so it's just a matter of ticking off what's gone out of the bank account, and making sure what's in my purse is what it *says* should be in my purse... Seems I was out by £5.10, which is quite clearly me just popping into the shop for some fruit etc one night after work so that's gone in the 'budget fiddling' category that I keep for such occasions :rotfl:
Had to do a few bits of shifting from one category to another but mostly things are looking ok :j Currently got £364 in house maintenance, waiting for the roofer, who's quite clearly not going to come this month now
Ah well. Might just leave it there and then top it up next month, since as soon as he's been I'll get the plasterer in too, so we might have to pay both in July...
Just realised I've got £120 sat waiting to be transferred to Patchwork Fund, so I've poached £30 from the house maintenance to round it up to £150 and transferred it over - just need to update signature now! :j :j Not building as quickly as it was now we're spending on housey things, but I'm still managing to add to it each month :j
Emailed the mortgage folks at the bank yesterday to see if they'll lend if I'm on a temporary contract... My job at the minute is permanent, but for a variety of reasons (that I won't go into on here) I've been considering my options, which may be to move closer to home, which might possibly mean landing up on a temporary contract... (2 or 3 years, most likely)
Fortunately they *will* lend :j :j as long as contract is at least 12 months long, and there's at least 6 months to go when you apply :j So that's good to know and increases our options :j0 -
Sig updated, and Patchwork Fund now has £6408.55 in :j :j Suspect at least half of that (if not more) will go on fees etc for the new house  Gosh, that's a frightening thought  Never had any savings before now they'll be half wiped out in a shot!
Still, we'll have a shiny new house to show for it :j And I suppose we've built it up once, we'll be able to do it again... (although we're not paying a mortgage right now so it's a lot easier!!)
Ah well, thinking too far ahead for a Wednesday night, probably time for bed... :rotfl:0 -
Well done on your trail race Cheery. Hope you are not too achy this morning.
It's amazing how expensive house buying is! All the surveys/fees/solicitors etc and that's before you mention the mortgage. Good to hear that your savings are looking good.

I'm rather achey, thank you starnac
:rotfl: But it's a *good* achiness that comes from having *done something* (rather than that horrid achiness you get from sitting round doing nothing) so I don't really mind :j
I'm also completely full of cold - and VERY glad this waited to start til after yesterday's race! :j Fortunately I'm working at home today :j
Trying to think if I've done anything remotely moneysaving in the last few days...
Ooh, I had one sachet of jelly so I made that and put two shrivelled dried up satsumas in it - they've revitilised nicely and soaked up the jelly and the whole thing is now rather tasty
:j They were reduced (and not very nice) when we bought them and have just sat there getting worse so this has saved me throwing them in the bin
Just need to find a use for some nasty cheap mealy floury apples that are sitting there - not sure jelly is going to work for those...
Four weeks on Friday til our holidays  :j and I NEED to do something about exercise/healthy eating. Think I'm going to finally give up on slimming world this time round - I've been paying £5 a week since January and have lost a grand total of.... well, in fact I haven't lost anything at all, I've put ON 2.5lbs  Bloody ridiculous.
So that £5 a week can go on something else. I shall be falling back on an old faithful Shred video  Either shred or pilates video every single day - no excuses!
Pilates today
:rotfl: Not sure I can stomach shred after running 15 miles yesterday but pilates will stretch me out nicely
I'm off food shopping later - I shall TRY and do some kind of a meal plan first
Feeling VERY uninspired re food at the minute, we always have the same stuff in, never plan meals, and often tend to just spend the day munching porridge, yogurt, fruit, and an occasional piece of toast. Hate trying to concoct an interesting dinner out of just risotto rice and a few frozen veg - it's easy enough for a couple of days but then it gets VERY tedious
Mind you, I made a (not very nice
) topping for some boiled potatoes the other day - just frozen leeks, frozen peppers and passatta and some herbs from the garden. Didn't go very well with the potatoes but the next day I made pizza dough in the bread machine and used the sauce as an all-in-one pizza topping, just adding a few mushrooms and cheese on the top
Worked really well and cos the stuff was all coated in tomato it didn't fall off when I tried to eat it :rotfl: Might do that again! :rotfl:
Have a good one all :j0 -
That pizza sounds yummy. I know what you mean about always having the same stuff in the cupboards. DH usually does our shopping as I get annoyed really easily (I don't like shopping...or other people who dare shop at the same time as me :rotfl: ) and he tends to buy the same stuff all the time. I can't really complain as like I said, he actually does the shopping!
 to slimming world! Maybe trying something else is a good idea.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
:rotfl: We're in exactly the same situation with mr cheery doing the shopping - except he doesn't always go soon enough so I end up buying things from corner shops and spending a fortune
Anyway, just done us our first approved foods order in months :j £32 including delivery - not the most exciting stuff but did get 80 each of camomile and lemon & ginger teabags for £1, 16kg of malted grain flour for £3.99 (NO idea where we're going to put that!!), recycled loo roll, and some snacky dried fruit stuff to take to work
Still going to pop to supermarket later though :j0 -

I've just written something similar on my diary!!
We haven't done an AF shop in months. Might have to check it out againGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I've just seen your diary :rotfl:
Mr Cheery has just gone shopping, after me telling him I planned to go myself this evening. Bit vexing really as for once I planned to do a meal plan first and get some unusual things, but he just dashed off before I could say any of that, and didn't take his phone :rotfl: Ah well.
Suffering today - stupid coil still hurting (yes, I had it checked and was told it just takes a few weeks to settle down properly - got another check in 4 weeks), and I'm full of cold so blowing nose every two minutes. Probably should have taken the day off sick!
Stopping on the dot of 5, however much I've (not) done. Bleurgh.0 -
Bleurgh! Hope you have finished now and are sat on sofa with a cup of teaGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
