Well, I did run 8 miles - 8.75 miles in fact! :eek: Well, I ran some and walked some, but I still did them all on foot so that counts
:rotfl:
While I was out the roofer rang - I'd left Mr Cheery in the house in case but it seems he was in the cellar and didn't hear the doorbell or the phone... No matter, I explained what needed to be done, and he's going to come back the week after next :j
Spent the whole of yesterday driving round Lincolnshire looking at cheery houses (from the outside) and scoping places out. Not exactly planning to go and live there, but we've seen lots of cheery houses, and people keep telling us we 'can't' live over there because 'it's too far away' (ie they can't be arsed to come and visit us...) so we thought we'd check it out for ourselves.
Some of it *is* rather far away :rotfl: but plenty to likeMade a few decisions about what we do and don't want so feel a little further forwards :j
Exhausted today though :$ Got up before I was ready and went to the community garden but I was a bit tired and grumpy and had a bit of a sense of humour failure with the squabbling old ladies and people saying stupid thingsStill, I did bring home about 35 opium poppy plants so I'm planning (at some point today) to get them all planted in the garden :j :j Filling up with flowers for free :j
Just spent a good hour and a half curled up on the sofa with a book though and now feeling rather more human! :rotfl:
Got a couple of hours til Mr Cheery comes back, and in that time I want to...
* write a blog post
* check YNAB (I know I spent a few things yesterday and didn't keep track properly)
* plant poppies
* check emails and voluntary group minutes for a list of things to do...
First though I think - another cup of tea...0 -
I'm in Lincolnshire, lived here all my life, you should have dropped in for a cuppa . House prices are still reasonable round here and some lovely places to visit. Let me know if you want to know about anywhere0

:hello: Aw, thanks Februarycat, that's very sweet of you
The furthest we got to yesterday was Louth, which I've never visited before and which we loved
But which I think really is just too far for us to carry on any kind of life here in Sheffield, sadly, especially when I work even further away too! But I shall certainly remember your kind offer when we come nearer to making an actual decision
I think we're going to do the same kind of exploratory day out in West Yorkshire/Huddersfield type area in a couple of weeks0 -
Louth is lovely market town, I'm about an hour away from Louth but not been there for years. It's a good idea to have a visit to different areas and see what's there, I'm sure you will find the perfect area and house for you both.0

Thanks Februarycat
Tiredy tired tonight. Just done 2 days in York in a row, which always wipes it out of me! And tonight I've been pottering round doing bits on various voluntary projects - 3 of which currently involve activities VERY much like those I do at work... :eek: Which has made it feel like a very long day! :eek:
Anyway, just squeezed in a nice bath :j :j :j
And just done the most bizarre YouGov survey - one of the questions asked how much I'd spent on newspapers in July 2014 :rotfl: :rotfl: You expect me to remember that? I suppose I can make an educated guess at, er, nothing :rotfl: :rotfl:
Working at home tomorrow thank goodness! :j Off to curl up with Kojak now, it's been a while...0 -

:hello:
Afternoon chums
Gorgeously sunny day here :j :j :j I'm working at home and just sat out in the garden for lunch - SO difficult to come back in...Keep thinking of a day when I don't need to go to work at all and can just hang around in the garden all day long :j :j
(sadly I reckon that day's quite a long way off :rotfl: )
Just making a cuppa and then I'll get back to it, I suppose...
Don't plan on going anywhere or spending anything today :j Working probably til 5ish if I can get everything done (which I'm more likely to without long lunches in the garden...) and then pottering and tidying up, and a bit of dull voluntary work admin stuff (which feels very much like *real work* at the minute, pah).
And I might spend more time outside :j Plant some squash seeds that probably should have gone in already, and some flowers. Better late than never I suppose...0 -
