How big are the tubs in £land Cheery?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Cheery - I didn't read wot you wrote as boasting either. There are so many variations of what brings folk to this forum, that we all have a different tale to tell, a different path to walk. And I actually take great inspiration from folk saying that they've *made it through to the other side* anyway - whether it is debt or mortgage freedom. Surely when you are despairing that you'll ever clear the debt, it must be reassuring to know that it can be done and that there are folks that have
As :money: says, 'every debt problem has a solution' - we need the stories of those solutions, as much as people in debt need to share their stories of their problems - that way, the solutions start to roll......

Aw :kisses3: So much love and cheeriness on this forum, I love it! :j :j
Mr Cheery is fine now, thanks GreyingBooked to have proper crown fitted next week so just needs to keep temporary one in til then - easier said than done it seems! :rotfl:
Starnac,, I'm using these 7 litre tubs with their cheery coloured lids :j Mr Cheery's system is split between little takeaway-sized tubs, and these - although he's having to use the same as me now as we entirely cleared out our local £land's stock of that style :rotfl:
I've also got a couple of these smaller ones which are quite a nice size too :j :j Might have to get some more of those
Parkrun done and dusted :j and neighbouring dog should be arriving soon for the weekend :j Not sure how much sorting will get done with him 'helping'... :rotfl:0 -
Those first ones look exactly like what I need. Why have I never noticed them before in our £land???
I love those clippy boxes with handles. They would be so handy for carrying my little bits and pieces to fittings (needle, thread, tape measure etc) my crochet to DD's swimming lessons or my bits and pieces to youth club. So handy!
Ooh an adoptive dog for the weekend. How lovely for you.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Sadly we don't have the dog after all - four hours after he was meant to be here we wanted to go out so went in search of the owners. Turns out their holiday was cancelled but they forgot to tell us...
Easily done (although it's not the first time they've done iy...) )
Anyway, more opportunity for tub activity
They may not have those tubs in your poundland starnac - they ran out of Mr Cheery's favoured tubs so we went to the one in the town centre and they had no tubs at all! Might be a space thing - our closest shop is pretty big...
Need to stop soon and make some food...0 -
Ours isnt that big. Maybe that's why. I think I will still go and have a look in the week though.
Shame about the dogGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I'm not too sad about the dog
:rotfl: He's adorable, and we always give him a good fuss in the street of course, and regularly just pop round to take him out for a walk if they're out for a very long day. But overnight is more of a hassle - he's used to sleeping on their daughter's bed, and our bed is up a stepladder on a mezzanine so he cant get up, so sits at the bottom and whines... If he was our dog he'd be locked in the kitchen til he got over it
(if we had a kitchen door, that is... :rotfl: ) but as he's not, we just land up sleeping in the attic, or bringing the futon out of the car and putting in the downstairs part of the bedroom - just to be with the dog :rotfl:
Quite glad I don't have to go through all the messing about! :rotfl:
Not having a productive eveningWell, I was until about 8pm, then I got tired, and then ate about 5 cereal bars in a row
(well, there's no 'about' about it - it was exactly 5
:rotfl: ) Still sat in front of the computer 2 hours later, mindlessly reading house buying threads
Ok, going to turn off, have a little tidy of the kitchen, and then curl up on the sofa I think :j0 -
Goodness me, where did the weekend go?!
Well, it was quite nice in a didn't-really-do-much kind of a way :j A nice lie in on Sunday reading :j and then pottered out for more tubs (of course) and spent some time filling them up :rotfl: Another trip to the tip, popped into a friend's house for a cuppa :j Spent most of Monday pottering round the garden which looks *much* better (Although I was getting rather disheartened by the end of it) and then went to a friend's house for pizza :j Very jolly
Back at work today, and I'm in between big projects so feeling a bit lacklustreStill things to do, of course, but none of that intensity or focus (which I've complained about plenty often!
:rotfl: )
Home now, and Mr Cheery had lost track of the time and not made me any tea (he's ever so good normally with tea on the table when I get in!) Fortunately our friend gave us the leftover pizza dough last night and some cheese, so I rustled up a quick couple of pizzas and a VERY colourful coleslaw and am now quite stuffed:j
I was going to hop down to friend's garden (which he's kindly lent me to grow veg in, and which I have neglected abominably) but was just SO tired and hadn't had any tea...
I did get some plants to go in it yesterday though so will pop down at the weekend and have a sort out :j
I confess I'm feeling a little *behind* todayThere's about 5 people I haven't responded to about things (my sister about visiting my nan, a friend about visiting to talk about weddings (hers, not mine!), another friend who's coming over to England soon, someone I want to fix the roof, the plasterer... ). There's also a couple of things I said I'd do for the community allotment.
And of course the whole house is a never-ending round of unfinished tasks at the minuteEven when I do tidy up it doesn't look like I have because everything is still everywhere and it's impossible to actually put everything *away* while we're still sorting the cellar/workshop/all our possessions
Still, I imagine I'm just tired after being out since 7am so as Mr Cheery's not here and you lot won't tell anyone, I'm going to sneak into my nightie and curl up on the sofa with Kojak:j

Oh, and I did some YNAB sorting and need to have a bit of a rethink on next month's budget - I've been allocating about £100 a month to 'house maintenance' which is fine when you're not actually doing any :rotfl: Spent £150 this month, and next month will (hopefully!) have to pay roofer and plaster so will need a rethink.
I'm trying to do as much of this as I can without raiding savings or emergency fund. Of course, that means not putting as much *into* savings, but somehow that feels better than putting it in and then taking it back out again...:rotfl: :rotfl:

I know what you mean about not putting things into savings, Cheery, when you're going to pay builders in short order - its probably good practice for other things too.
Your weekend sounds nice - and I *so* know that feeling about being behind with everything - have to just do what we can, I guess. Moving the plant saucer from the grass into a bare piece of border, for instance, enabled me to cut grass that had got too long, weed the piece of border behind it, stop cats scratching in the bare border and get some "flow" through to the end of the gardenam I a garden designer or not :rotfl:
