  • The blacklight run uses UV lights and neon coloured powder and is run at night :D It's an excuse for a bit of a party rather than a serious run ;)

With lots of swede I'd be mashing it and freezing it I think. Also good in a root veg soup..

Oooh, that sounds fun stepup! :j :j Not heard of neon coloured powder before but it sounds ace! I confess I tend to treat most races as an excuse for a party rather than a serious run :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

RT, er, singing neeps?! I think I've heard the expression but I didn't realise it was a real thing :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mr Cheery mashed one of them tonight :D Love mashed swede :D Not sure it's worth freezing as I imagine we'll have eaten them within a few days anyway and they're nowhere near going off! :j

Just done some banking (all in order) and paid the car tax, not due til the end of the month but might as well get it over and done with, and it was VERY nice to have the right amount sat in a little YNAB category waiting :D :j :j

I was also going to pay for the RAC cover but realised I needed to ring them to check something and now can't find the letter! :o :rotfl: Suspect I've taken it upstairs, but that's a long way away right now... :o :rotfl:

Cheery day at work today but I'm pretty wiped out and a bit hormonal so as Mr cheery has gone out I'm off to curl up on the sofa with Kojak :D

Virtual Sealed Pot :D Sorry, I just assumed it was such an MSE institution that everyone knew about it before I did :o :rotfl:

Basically it's like a little pot you sling all your small change into - but online :D So every time your bank account has an odd number of pence in it, you transfer it out to a separate account.

When I was only looking at online banking once every few weeks I used to do it to the nearest fiver, but now I'm looking every day I just take it down to the nearest £1 (you could even do to the nearest 10p!) I last emptied mine in October I think. I use it for tea and cake spending money when we go away :D Not huge amounts but it feels like 'free' money and like someone else is paying for our treats :D :j :j

    Morning chums! :hello:

Sun's shining, and I'm working at home today, so no reason at all to go outside  Might make an effort to get into the garden at least, see if the seeds I planted at the weekend are growing (unlikely, but at least I can check they don't need watering)

Nicely busy at work at the minute without being bonkers so that's nice :j :j

Also need to do some washing, ring the RAC people blah blah blah...

Ooh, THREE exciting things just happened :j :j

    (1) had a phone call from the co-op complaints dept, after I complained the other week about our local shop staff being most reluctant to go on the tills, even when there was a big queue, much preferring to help each other stack teabags etc. Many times I've just dumped my basket in the (giant) queue and gone next door to sainsburys. Man was very nice and will be informing 'operations manager' :o Feel a bit rotten for complaining but it's their own fault and I was most vexed! :rotfl:

    (2) had a letter from my lovely pal who lives in Brussels and longs to be back in the countryside. Lovely to hear from her, and reminds me I must get off my backside and organise a visit! :j (which also reminds me that my passport has run out, so I'd best sort that first...)

    (3) had a letter from the land registry confirming that I now own half our house :j :j :j Most exciting and celebratory news :D

Indeed it is KC :j :j Very excited about it in a weird way - although I also feel overwhelming guilt for half owning a mortgage-free house at this age without having actually contributed to the mortgage :o But then he feels guilty that I'm the main wage earner now and probably will be until I retire, so we make a good team :D :rotfl:

It all works out in the end :D :rotfl:
  • Woo-hoo! Congrats on the house ownership! :D
