Right - had the breakdown cover renewal letter today
£65.95 for 'comprehensive' cover with Axa through Autonet - and I need to ring and check what that actually means - in the past Autonet has always given us RAC as the cheapest with homestart etc, but the Axa booklet they've sent doesn't have a 'comprehensive' policy (not that's called that anyway) so I need to just make sure we're getting the same thing.
According to Martin we could get a slightly cheaper £50 straight through the RAC with cashback - but without cashback it's over £100 and as well all know, cashback isn't guaranteed...
Never had a problem with autonet so will just be sticking with them. It's been roughly £65 for home start cover now for years :j
And, of course, with YNAB, the dosh is just sat there waiting to be used :j :j0 -
That sounds good, Cheery - did you have fun with little doggy pal?
I know what you mean about insurance/cashback - that's big sums of money to faff around with, not just an extra fiver that'll cancel out with a later deal.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Very true about the cashback KC - my question is always 'can we afford it anyway?' - then the cashback is a bonus & gets thrown at the savings or debt! (or dare I admit sometimes spent on coffee & cake?)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0

Well reminded about getting breakdown cover sorted........
Hope you all have a great weekend. Furry fiends here missing you too.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Missing your furry fiends too Pippi! :j
Odd day here. Woke up really early and couldn't go back to sleep, lay reading about election.
Then an exciting trip to the GUM clinic :rotfl: for a routine check where I learned that we now apparently do our own swabs :j Much more civilised than lying with our legs in the air and nether regions on showWonder if that'll increase the amount of people going for checks?
Then an incredibly boring aquarobics class with a very bored looking instructor  Not remotely inspiring but it blinking hurt anyway! :rotfl:
Now in the attic with a roll of bin bags and the rain pounding on the skylight, wondering whether I can be ar*ed to make some inroads into the decluttering... :eek:0 -

I rather like the sound of being civilised :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It was much less unpleasant
:j I assume it's not for stuff like smear tests? But I've not had one of those for a while either so who knows? Much more dignified.
Mind you, it's not going to be remotely dignified next week when I have my IUD swapped  :rotfl: :rotfl: Can't do that myself! :rotfl:0 -
I've recently had my smear test and I didn't do my own swab :eek:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

I suspect smear tests might be different, as I think they have to er, get right up to a particular bit and get particular cells (or something) :rotfl: With mine it was just a general 'have you got a nasty infection' type swab and it seems they now don't mind you doing it yourself - it was pretty straightforward :rotfl:
Maybe it depends where you go too? I'm intrigued now
Just had our AGM for the local allotment group. We've spent the last few months setting up officially as a group (although most of us have been working together for years at a different garden without all this nonsense, now we have an allotment lease from the council, we also need a constitution, insurance, have rent to pay, blah blah). Goodness me, it's felt a bit like work these last few months! There's only 10 of us but we're a varied bunch with ages ranging literally from 19 to 81 so we've a range of talents - most of which don't extend to staying on topic :rotfl:
Still, I actually put timings on the agenda and we didn't stray too far off them
Good news for this evening is I've managed to move enough stuff out of the way to actually get at the washing machine :j Good job really - I won't tell you how many days ago I ran out of clean pants  :rotfl: :rotfl:
I will be SO glad when all this house sorting nonsense is over!0 -
