I don't hink I've ever had more than £1 in Mr T vouchers so the prospect of using them to pay for anything seems laughable :rotfl:

Didn't spend anything else yesterday so i'm declaring anoher NSD :j :j I know we spent £165 on the car, but i've decided NSDs for me are about my own personal spends so that doesn't count :D

Not sure i'll manage today - i'm on the way to newcastle, i do have lunch and it's not a super long day so might be alright (always tempting to get a cuppa for the train home, although i did bring my own on the way here :money: ). Even if i manage without, Mr Cheery has a gig tonight so there might be a sherry or two (although i'm doing the door for them so i suppose i might get one bought for me... maybe...

I'm catching up, Cheery, so I've read the whole of this page in one go - and its wonderful :j:j:j

Definitely celebrate paying off the mortgage :j:money: I know it feels mad to you to own half a house, but you're definitely contributing, and all your canniness is of huge benefit to Mr Cheery, its a partnership where you're both contributing and both gaining :)

I looked at images of the Kangoo - that looks great too - just the sort of little van I'll get after I've retired and I'm renting this place out :j

Ooh, you're on the train right now! Any chance you can be super duper mse and boil hot water at the other end for your tea for the way back? When I worked in London, I'd make tea at the place, at the end of the day, and use that for the journey home (it was that late night Friday finish I used to do). Loved it, my little thermos paid for itself many times over :D

And a sherry tonight when you're on the door seems only reasonable

Thanks kc :) I know we're both contributing and i'll be the bigger source of income in the future but still feels a bit odd!

I might try to be cheeky at the other end and make tea for the train :D it's a care home and they're awash with tea, after all. But then they're already doing us lots of favours and i don't want to be too cheeky!

Good plan for next time though - i'd feel much better asking for just water than tea, so i shall get a small stash of teabags and milk to bring, thanks for the idea! :coffee:

I ended up buying tea in the end, so £2.30  I'd normally buy at the station with my bite card for £1.40 but train was already there when I got there and I wasn't going to get home half an hour later for the sake of saving 90p on a cuppa, however tempting :rotfl:

    Also spent

80p chocolate :o (it was a long day!)
£1.75 bananas (should recoup from food budget I suppose!)
80p treat + fruit pastilles for running :D
£6 peanuts and G&T in the pub :D (and coffee and soda water, so really that's not too bad)

No idea about today - I've abandoned my 11 mile run as legs are just still TOO achey from the other day so that means a pretty much free day :j :j Might try to get a hair cut though, fringe is FAR too long. And I'm due an MMR jab this afternoon - who knows what manner of treats will be required after that... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks all :) Twas actually more good luck than good management - it's only 4 months shy of the 25 year term remember so we've not exactly done anything special :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jab very nearly didn't happy  but fortunately all my recent grumpiness came in rather handy :o and now I have got both the jab AND a letter to say I've had it :j Bloody ridiculous farce that I can't even be bothered to go into here, but suffice to say I did NOT need it in the first place for anything other than stupid bureacratic reasons and there will be some strongly worded emails flowing from my fingers once I return to work!

Anyway, been out for a cheery lunch with a pal - when I rang to suggest it I didn't realise it was his birthday, so that turned out nicely :j :j

    £5 birthday pressie
£10 lunch for both of us
£2.80 cheery tiny hand made bowl with imprints of leaves on the inside (my present for being (relatively) good at the doctors :D At any rate, I might have had stern words, but I did NOT cry :D )
Also spent about £10 on food as we have pretty much none, but will recoup that.

Popped in key shop to ask about key for new car - £100 for one with chip thing in  But non-chip one is £60 anyway so I suspect on this occasion we'll cough up, while we're still in 'spending on the new car' mode. Was never comfortable with only having one for the old car, especially when I locked it inside at 2am and had to make an embarrassed phone call to the RAC... :o :rotfl: (my previous van had been very easy to break into when I did that, and I'd got a bit careless!)

Anyway... home now, and I've forgotten both tea bags and a hair cut, so Im going to have to go out again - d'oh!

    Ok,£15 food money recouped :j :j

Then i spent £28 on a haircut  which is most unlike me  (and no, it's not blue and sticking up like that :D ). Just went for a trim, couldn't get in last minute at normal place, and when i caught sight of myself all windswept i thought !!!!!! it, i haven't had a proper wet cut and blow dry for MONTHS and i feel in need of a bit of looking after... :o

not going back, woman waffled on for far too long and it took nearly an hour

then i spent £1.50 in the pub and £13 on a takeaway :o :rotfl:

Aw, the impromptu birthday lunch sounds lovely - so does the haircut, tho I can't bear waffly hairdressers ... being looked after is always nice. As is a tasty takeaway :):):)
