Argos, total incompetence

Hey you've got a free mattress out of it, (as long as they DO send written confirmation) aswell as the original on order to be delivered. There's not many companies who will do that. I think Argos have excelled themselves by saying you can keep it.
So I really don't understand what the problem is.
Yeh it's taking up room, but surely it's not a matter of life or death?
Can you not ask a family member or friend to store it for you whilst you decide what to do with it? If you want rid quick, try https://www.freecycle.org/ or if you wanna wait & make a few quid try eBay.
The choice is yours.0 -
Clearly some posters know little of teaching and lecturing. Still, by the facetious nature of the replies, it's not surprising.
I've been speaking to the CS manager all afternoon. Annie I suggested your solution but that was unacceptable to them.
Vectis, we don't have the space to store it like that. Expecting someone to take some initiative and ask the driver to revisit is hardly unreasonable. It's trying to deal with it whilst there's still a possibility of a quick solution. It is unreasonable that they didn't attempt to try that, whilst telling me they did.
Argos have come back to me and "as a goodwill gesture" have suggested I dispose of the mattress and not return it. I don't really understand how that is a solution. It still leaves the onus on me to deal with their incompetence.
perhaps if you push a little harder, they could give you a video link to the picker being publicly stoned0 -

All seems a bit of a mountain out of a molehill really.0

Edited. I'd rather not stoop to the sarcasm.0

If he hadn't been stoned, he probably would have picked the right one. As for going out in public when stoned, maybe ho got the munchies.
eBay, freecycle, charity shop, homeless centre. Four different ways to dispose of a new, unused mattress. Very little effort required on the OP's part, and if they choose the latter two, they'll end up with a sense that they have done a good thing.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
