Well indeed. Why not set up an atheists' party if you feel so strongly about it? You might get elected on 3rd or 4th preferences. I wasn't really in the market for this show so I don't care.

The old cliche " why not slag off the Muslims and see how it goes for you" is always worth quoting.

I'm with the op on this one. If they don't want to see it performed, then they don't have to go and see it.
Banning something on "blasphemy" ground is distinctly daft.

I think it has been established many, many times over that posts in this sub-section of the forum are permitted to deviate from purely money related matters.

As well you are aware tommie.

I'd have thought Amnesty International had better things to do than comment on this sort of incident
  • It's a public venue paid for by public money, it's not a private Unionist Party venue. What they going to do next, ban Catholics from it cause they worship false idols or Gay people for sodomy ! Seriously Tommie & Qwert, are you two for real? Just when you think this "country" can't be any more a laughing stock within the UK, they somehow manage to pull another rabbit out of the bag!! Talk about pea brained politicians.

It may be a public venue paid for by public money but it was the public who voted these buffoons in to represent them! And yes, they probably would like to do the next two things you suggested.

Jake O'Kane, one of Northern Ireland's leading comedians called the councillors "zealots" who have no right to be "moral guardians".
"We elected them to empty our bins, make sure the leisure centres were open - that's the powers they have," the comedian said.
"We don't need a bunch of unionist councillors in Newtownabbey deciding what we can or cannot go to see."
