Lyons chocolate cupcake type things... thick silver case with sponge topped with lovely thick icing.

We used to get these down Romford market - used to love the thick chocolate topping! Always took it off whole and ate the cake first then munched the chocolate. :)

I then scraped the foil clean and made my pippa doll a skirt out of it :o:o

As for the fastini - is this it? Sadly OOS or I would have tried it. :)

  • Camelot, you are right it was quite theraputic. Probably if a child did it now they would be advised to have counselling:).

  • Linda, noooo! Those baker boys cupcakes are nowhere near as nice! They look very similar and I remember trying them with anticipation.... But The icing tastes like sweet wax :( I've tried a few substitutes but the Lyons ones are really the best! Occasionally my dad has found them in macros, and once in Iceland but as a rule they just don't seem to be anywhere!

  • This year, yes I always scraped the foil clean too but had to dispose of the wrapper quickly as mum and dad's dog had quote the appetite for the wrappers!! And yes that's the wine, every time I search it brings up amazon but it is always - always!! - currently unavailable!

was it Jack LaLanne? he wore a funny kind of blue tracksuit thing

Apparently he was on in America when my friend was a child but might have been on here

Lizzy is my first memory of anyone doing exercises on the telly though

You built my hopes up there but, no, just Googled the name and not him either! Somewhere, at the back of my mind, I am thinking the name Robert but maybe on the wrong track with that!!

A quick stop for now--I'll read back later--but I sorely miss Dentyne chewing gum & the lime barrels from Dairy Milk/Tray chocolate boxes. At the time I was told I was too young to have them after the initial 'one to try', & now they're no longer available coz I izz awl grow dup :( S'not fair pouty-smiley-emoticon.gif

I loved the lime barrels too - those and the coffee creams were the only ones I liked! I don't like milk chocolate (never have), but those fillings made eating the cudburry chocolate worth it!

I used to love the 'Frys Turkish delight' (remember their tv ad with the woman rolled out of the carpet............in front of this delish guy????????) their chocolate wasn't as milky as cudberrys.
But Frys got taken over - I now buy Turkish Delight bars from Iceland - the make is unfamiliar but they DO taste more like the bars I remember from my childhood.
