I disagree.. I think they should pass it on to the police. I don't feel comfortable with the idea that Tescos have the right to appropiate somebody's property to another person.
I am with Ollie's dad, they have no right to do this at all afaik, just out of interest what was the purpose of them giving you a receipt to say you handed it in then?0 -
I feel for the OP. If I found a load of money I would hand it in, but I must admit I would secretly be hoping it wasn't claimed so I could claim it
(or the owner giving a reward
) I would want it to go back to the original owner if possible but if that wasn't the case I don't see what is wrong with the finder being able to keep it as they found it and were honest enough to hand it in.
After all it is what the police do. If the police gave everything to charity and there was no chance of the finder keeping it I wounder if the amount of lost items handed in would decrease?
I think the other posters are correct in not doing anything wrong by giving it way, but do think it is unfair they have and would be miffed if I were the OP.0 -
The amount was over £400 in cash.0

What do you mean? Can you expand Halibut?
I was wondering something like this. It certainly isn't Tesco money, the OP has more right to it than Tesco.0
