  • With over an hour's wait on hold I decided to give O2's online chat help a whirl.

After telling me a million times that the increase was down to RPI (despite my explanation that I am not complaining about RPI, but the 50% increase to out-of-bundle calls and the fact these fall outside of CISAS/OFCOME regulations.) When I finally showed them the Ofcom link that provided this information, they decided they'd just not respond what-so-ever.

I'm now on my third advisor. Wish me luck.

don't take this the wrong way, but your completely wasting your time on the phone/chat with 02 customer services,
always use the complaint email and keep your records of it, as for them telling you the increase of out of bundle fall outside of regulation rules is utter rubbish, its clearly in your terms and conditions.

I pretty much know I'm wasting my time- they are absolutely useless. I just am speaking to them whilst on hold to their customer service department. I have also emailed them but received no response as of yet.

My o2 contract ends in the middle of May and was planning on leaving anyway. I have a functioning iPhone and not really bothered about having the latest one. I have done plenty of shopping about looking at sim only dealsl and currently the best deal I can find is virgin. It's the VIP Plus Tariff - unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data, unlimited calls to 0800, 0845, 0870 and 0808 numbers all this for £18 per month. They will be a saving of £27 per month on my current o2 contract. I will never darken o2's door again.

Sorry should have added they said it would cost me £120 to end my contract early and come Friday when I get my pay it will be under consideration.

The O2 chat is a waste of time, they just keep reiterating the 2.7% RPI increase is 100% fair (no problem there), but then they keep telling me that international rates increase from 40p to 60p does not equal 50%. Muppets.

But I did get this email address from them: complaintreviewservice@o2.com

Email sent. Next step, if needed, is Ofcom.

  • As an ex O2 employee, you're probably best emailing your concerns to Ronan.Dunne@telefonica.com
