So glad to hear you feeling a bit positive. Hurrah for mums, eh?
What kind of work do you do/where do you find your contracts from? Do you use sites like elance/peopleperhour/guru.com/freelancing.com? I had a period of doing freelance transcription and had a lot of luck with guru and freelancing. Certainly worth spending a bit of time bidding on jobs on them to get as much coming your way as you can.

Hiya
I use PPH & elance but hadn't heard of guru or freelancing. Will definitely go have a look and see what I can find.
I'm also going to try & keep my £6 a day challenge up mainly because I can't bear the thought of giving up within a week! As you can see this week has been brilliant but I know this won't be every week. However, we will see!
The neighbours have had a tree chopped down and chipped today and the noise has literally just stopped and I can hear myself think properly again now so that's a bonus, maybe my head will stop throbbing soon too!
Bring it on!!xx

Evening all
So, after a totally up and down day it's near the end and I'm still on the old lappy.
I've bid on a few contracts tonight, some of them for peanuts but the time spent is also peanuts and those peanuts will add up and that's a good thing.
I also got another £6 in my challenge so have updated my signature accordingly. I'm quite surprised at how well I've done this week but it's mainly as I've been asked to do help out a few people here and there. Not sure it'll be as good next week but that's when the wonder of eBay will (hopefully) kick in!
I've also paid another £25 off cat3 which leaves me with only £20 to pay - yay! Will be so glad to see at least one bill gone and of course it means I'll have a few extra quid to throw elsewhere.
Feeling much better healthwise too. No idea what was wrong but just felt so cr*ppy today.
Off to watch a bit of tv and have some downtime then an early night me thinks, so shattered it's unreal. Think all the driving of last weekend has possibly caught up with me. Man I sound a right old f*rt! haha
Night everyone xxCC1: 10273.70/6892.56. CC2: 1000/832

Morning all
Wow, what a difference a day makes! I feel so much better today and therefore my head is even clearer than it appeared last night so that's all good.
The 2 contracts I've lost in the last 2 months were only gained around November last year and were supposed to last til the end of 2013 so although I'm a bit grrr about it all I got an extra £1,600 out of the customers so I shouldn't really complain. I'm back where I was financially with incomings it's just the outgoings that are slightly higher. I had a moment of adultness in December and got life insurance and the like sorted out. However it's a small amount really a month so it's not an issue.
I've added the £3.45 from the Orange refund into the holiday pot and therefore my £6 a day challenge is doing awesome. I'm going to put some items on eb*y at some point today and see if anything comes from them.
I've also had a reply on a job I bid on last night. I'm not sure whether it will come to any but it's the first reply I've had to any bids in a few months so that's perked me up. It's only a 2 week job but it's something and although it's barely any money it's a confidence booster and will show on my profile as doing something recently.
I've also decided to start writing my blog again. I logged onto it last night for the first time in ages and saw I had to really positive comments on my last post so I'm a bit frustrated with myself as I hadn't seen them before. But it shows I can write well so should keep it up.
Today is a busy day which it seems I need to earn 55p to reach the target of £40 this month! I've just realised that so best I go get earning.
Have a great day everyone xxCC1: 10273.70/6892.56. CC2: 1000/832

Morning hun
I'm very happy to see you're feeling better today, good stuff!
What do you blog about? I've kept blogs in the past but always given them up very quickly. I keep toying with the idea of starting one up again, but can't decide how to do it.
Great news on getting a response to a bid! :j Fingers crossed some stuff soon comes your way - every little helps.
Awesome news you've almost paid off Cat3 too! Excellent!! Here's an idea.. once you've paid one debt off, instead of snowballing that towards your other debts, why don't you then use that money towards the Oz fund? In one way it's going to slow down your debt payments a little, but you're not really losing anything as you're still paying just as much to everything else as you were before, AND it means that the holiday will get ever closer.
Hope you have a lovely day xx0 -
Morning hon
I blog about whatever comes to my mind really. I wanted a niche blog but couldn't decide on one subject so have blogged on anything. Some have been light and fluffy but others have been quite serious - 911, emotional blackmail by certain charities who I won't mention but are quite noticable today!! The best response I had was to one about social media & the riots so that was cool. I may not always know what I'm talking about but I'm passionate about it and that shows.
The debt for cat3 is a really daft one actually. I was renting my tv when I had a LBM and realised I'd paid about 5 times as much for renting it over the years then I would if I had bought it outright. The "we'll fix it when it breaks" mentality wasn't worth it as it had never broken! So I cancelled the contract & bought a tv and have nearly paid it off in only 4 months. So not only am I now not having to pay that off I'm also not paying for the rent of it either -win/win! And it was on 0% finance so win/win/win?!xx

Oh, meant to say. Littley helped put things into perspective a little last night. She saw my bank balance and full of awe said: Wow Mummy you're rich!!
As there was only £100 in there I clearly am not rich. But in the eyes of an 8 year old I am.
Lesson learnt: You're only as rich as you think you are. I have a lovely home, wonderful family, good friends, the best little girl in the world & a hundred quid.

I am in awe of how you have got back to business so quickly after such a big knock back. Well done.
I think you handled it really well though. You acknowledged how you were feeling, rather than burying it, talked it through with somebody wise and understanding and came up with a survival plan that you could build on. First class strategy x.
You are becoming an expert at turning lemons into lemonade. I think that there is a lot of truth in the saying 'your focus becomes your reality'. Determine the amount of money that you need each month to cover your outgoings, debt repayments, holiday fund and emergency/other fund, and keep that figure burning brightly in your mind.
I did this in November, when I was given a redundancy notice on one of my jobs which would have meant a 50% reduction in income. I decided that £1,000.00 was my figure. Six months later and I have £1,000.00 of work lined up for next month!!
You can do this xx."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250
Project Peacock - 2/33 - 1lb/7lb target.
£6.00 a day challenge £118.77/£170
Mtge debt includes car purchase - £46,381/ now £44,336 - Paid 4.4%
Emergency Savings 550.00/£10000 -

Thanks hon. In honesty I'm a bit surprised myself but what else am I supposed to do! Your goal of £1000 in November being there next month is an awesome achievement and something to aspire to. xxCC1: 10273.70/6892.56. CC2: 1000/832
