(On post #3 you said you were off to the court??)

I was going to go small claims court did not know mcol was the same online. But good news i just got an email from peter stating they would refund me minus £8 but wanted my bank details which i gave them . That in itself should be concrete for them to keep to their word. Hope i did the right thing in giving my details or have i dug myself a bigger hole?????

    Don't think so.

But still make sure you have returned anything they sent you to comply with the DSR - if you use DSR, then you can get everything back!

(As did the poster in the thread you read where the small claim court was threatened - though they paid up before the summons was issued)

    You are lucky.
You may not think so but you used a website that actually has a refund policy.
Not all web sites offering similar 'services' offer refunds.
    Cancellation/Refund Policy

You may cancel your application for our service at any time up until we have processed your application and completed our service.
If you cancel before we have processed your application, we will issue a full refund less £8.00 administration fee. If the application has been processed we will refund our service fee less £8.00 administration charge.
If you wish to exercise your right to cancel, please contact us in writing (email is best), as follows:

We are more than happy to issue a refund, but we can only issue refunds direct to your bank account. Please supply the following information:

    Bank Account Number
    Sort Code
    Order ID

This information MUST be sent by filling the form: Click here to fill the Contact Us - Form
The remittance from dvla-driving-licence.co.uk will be credited to your bank account within 48-72 hours of receipt of your request.

So you got back exactly what they said they would refund.

    Beware!
These websites are not just for driving licences.

    Take care when applying for:
    passports
    EHIC
    ESTA
    driving tests
    submitting tax returns

And I'm sure that list will grow as these companies realise that it can make (immoral (imho) but usually legal) money from people.

Its not a pseudo dvla sting, I presume the site checks the application just like the passport ones so nothing utoward goes on, people just need to read what the site claims to be or not to be.

You got a refund which im quite pleased at going by some of the replies on the other threads.

I think the middle aged, middle classes should have to take some sort of test before they are allowed to use the Internet. It would prevent this sort of thing happening.

https://dvla-driving-licence.co.uk/contact.php. Worse thing was i paid via debit card. It is £90 and NOT the official site. They claim to give you a refund and 24/7 online help.well its bern 4 days no refund or contact. Any advice from any wigs out there would be appreciated

    From that website:

"Our service is not connected to or affiliated with the UK Government or Driving Vehicle Licence Agency and acts as an agent processing the application. These services are available from other government sources for no fee"

How did you miss the above???

Exactly. Nothing wrong with these sites imo, just peoples inability to read and know what they are doing.

    Sorry :(
