You need to be careful here, the way you are acting you are going to be out of a job. Remember you have few rights in the first two years of employment.
Did you ever receive a contract for the original position? If not, I fail to see what you hope to achieve. Have got issued a grievance?0 -

Just to add - I have the full support of my management who are also fighting my cause with HR, so there is no danger of that happening..... I dont think they would dare, as they know they have messed up big time in this situation.
Regards to the contract -
It doesnt state any job role - just a generic "Officer" quote and then a department next to it.... a department which i wouldnt have any reason to believe that was not within the realms of the role i originally applied for.
Its really difficult to explain without going into specifics.0 -

when you say officer do you mean the roles like AO, EO, HEO, SEO if im getting the jist of your post0 -
I understand. I used to work for a large company who did this all the time. Job titles were changed to just associate 1, associate 2 and officer. Therefore that allowed them to move people around different jobs or give them a different job to which they applied. There was nothing they could do about it HR wise.0

You have no employment rights for the first two years - they can dismiss you without any comeback unless there is an equality issue.0 -

I understand the context, assuming it is the normal civil service structure. Legally I cannot see that you have a leg to stand on - you accepted a job and you are doing that job.
What is causing your anxiety? Is there anything that can be done to ease it, additional training perhaps?
Keep in mind that management are not your friends. They will do what is best for the Department, and if you cannot fulfil your responsibilities be in no doubt that they will resort to the capability procedure.0 -

Honestly, its really not like that where i work.
The anxiety is being placed completely outside of my comfort zone in a role where i do not have the requisite skills to carry out the job.
Its an EO role by the way - but classed as an officer.
Without being specific, the organisation is basically split in two. I applied for part A - but i have been posted to part B. This is a very simplistic look.
I was offered a job whilst waiting for the post that i applied for in other parts of the business - to which i replied no, I would like to wait for the job i applied for.
Obviously when i eventually got my job offer and contract i had no reason to believe i was being posted to a different area of the business as i had already said no to any different roles in the first place.0
