£70 a WEEK just electric. HELP.
Hi im really at my wits end, im with eon pre payment meter.
For the past few months ive been topping up my meter with £50-£70 a WEEK in credit, on the 19th dec I credited it with £135.00. On the 31st of dec GONE!! I spoke with eon to explain who took hour to figure Yes I was on the wrong tariff!! Okay. They changed it over on the 11th of jan.
since then ive credit my account (shows on app) £100!!
After pleading with them that I cannot afford £10 a day in electric they said nothing they could do it was wat I was using 60 KWH A DAY!
EVERYTHING in my 2bed house is electric. I have a new top of range hawksworth heating system. I have that and 1tv and a fridge freezer on in the day evening use cook and a lamp EVERYTHING else is Off and still using the same.
has anybody had the same?
Are eon correct.?

get a monitor to check what your usage us running at, sounds like something is running high, anyone using you loft for home growing? or spliced into your wiring?0

60 Kwh a day is a lot of electricity for a small property. What have you got the heating system and water set to, as thats what is using the most of your power. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

What heating system have you got?
Hawksworth heating are just install/maintenance company.
If you have flat rate electrical heating, that is where your money is going. It doesn't matter how new it is, it is the most expensive form of heating available.0 -
You don't need a monitor, just read your meter daily for a week, experiment by turning the heating off, and see what difference that makes. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Electric heating is obviously your main usage and is far more expensive than using gas. That said 60Kwh per day is on high side.0

Welcome to the forum.
Electricity is the most expensive way of heating and providing hot water and that will be cause of your high consumption. It doesn't matter how modern your electrical heating system is - they are all expensive.
From the 60kWh a day, leaving aside heating/hot water, the other consumption is likely to be 10kWh to 15kWh a day.
In winter it is perfectly possible to use 45kWh to 50kWh a day for heating; and that is the area to concentrate on making savings.
Why are you on a pre-pay meter? On a 'normal' credit meter you can choose from a variety of much cheaper tariffs that you appear to be paying.0 -
Logicor is all it says as far as heating system?. Its wired to a computer which tells me how much its costing! I use the computer to control each radiator.0
