The second is ticked.
Don't believe me?...then re-visit the site and see for yourself.
I did not see any of the above. I was directed automatically to the 1loan site from another site which said I had was getting a loan.
Anyhow, I am not posting further on this matter. I have posted a letter to 1loan requesting a refund and I am calling my Bank at 8am tomorrow to cancel my debit card in case they or anyone else tries to take any more money from my account.0 -

She got a crime reference number and gave to the bank which then the bank issues a hold on these two payments coming out. within a few days she got both payments back.

This didn't really happen though, did it?
The Police MIGHT suggest that you contact Action Fraud at best, at worst they would tell you that it is a civil matter.0 -

That's because you blindly ticked the box to say you agreed to their "terms of use", one of which is the £39.99 fee.
Never, ever, tick a box to say you agree to something when you haven't even read it, let alone understood it!
You will get your money back, but not from your bank. You'll get it back from the 'the1loan' up to 30 days after they receive your letter...as per the aforementioned T&Cs.
And changing your card won't solve anything (as you've already been told)!
Gimme a break.
Nobody has time to read every T&C they agree to. You'd do nothing else! The amount of literature I've been sent with most accounts I've opened is ridiculous. Would take me hours to read it all.
I would at least look for information about the fees though (not that I'd ever apply for a PDL).What will your verse be?

For a web page or PDF the <CTRL F> to find a £ or % is also a way to do this quickly.0 -

Yes this did happen and she got a crime reference number! no reason for me or my mum to lie. At the end of the day this company toke more then one payment from my mum under different company names one of which she never even heard of.0 -

Why involve the police, just write to them requesting a refund.
Well she was not very clued up about the whole so yes lesson learn t on her part. Getting that crime reference number helped in bank putting hold on payments coming out and refunding it.0 -
At last someone who recognises what is actually going on. And I am sure that all the people posting on here about not being stupid enough to fall for these also know that was is really going on is a scam. Deception. Call it what you will.
And as for the comment in this thread about ticking a box which acknowledges that you have read the T's and C's, I did not tick any box - which means if there WAS a box it was already ticked - which I believe is not legal - one has to opt-in by ticking a box - not opt-out by unticking a box?
In the final analysis as far as I am concerned had there been a prominent notice stating 'It will cost you £40 for us to try and find someone to lend you £200' I would not have gone further...

They are also using different company names to take money out so even if you did tick the box it is still wrong how they are taking more then one payment from people's accounts under different names just make sure no more payments are going out under different names.0 -

That's irresponsible.
* the difference is i wouldn't look to blame anyone else when things went wrong.
i did not tick nor untick any box!!0
