Loss of HD sound after Sky update.

If you get no sound when you select Dolby then there is something wrong with your set up-not Sky's.
Are you sure you're not reading old threads about the lack of surround over HDMI BEFORE Sky implemented the fix for this last year?
And as I Keep on telling you (excuse my extremely aggressive manner) I had no problem before the latest Sky update. Perhaps you would also like to comment on the other posts on the Sky help forum, or for that matter the previous but one poster, who are experiencing the same problem.
It would seem however that your assumption is incorrect according to Sky as you need a TV capable of receiving DD 5.1 transmissions even if you have a soundbar with HDMI connections in and out and optical on both your soundbar and TV.
If you have a look on the Sky help forum you will see the post that I have just received from Sky. The point I originally made was to advise other members what to do if they lost sound on their HD recordings and live TV following a Sky update, this of course still stands.0 -

Can you please confirm your settings?
I assume you have HDMI from Sky box to TV. Is your TV then connected to the LG Soundbar and if so how?0 -
Hello jem16
Hope my edit to my above post provides the info you're looking for. I can look for the latest software version later if you still require but not at home at the moment.0 -

Probably not needed but post it anyway.
Having read through the Sky help forum, I can see that the issue seems to be that your TV is not capable of receiving the DD output from the Sky box. That's why I asked if the HDMI went from Sky box to TV and then to the LG soundbar.
With my setup, HDMI goes from the Sky box to my amp and then HDMI to the TV so I do get full DD 5.1. I do not use the TV for sound.0 -
Model is LGNB 4530A 310W 2.1 ch. Box it came in with stand alone speaker stated is was Dolby. Is your TV Dolby as mine isn't.0

No my TV is not DD. However I never use my TV for sound. All sound is routed through the amp.
I tried a few experiments.
If I mute the amp sound and turn up the TV Volume, I only get sound on DD channels if I turn off DD over HDMI and revert back to Normal as you said. It's not just HD channels. Even the non HD version of Sky Premiere Movies has this problem as it's DD.
Sounds like neither your soundbar or TV is capable of decoding the true DD signal coming from Sky through HDMI. I'm not surprised about the TV, but the soundbar does sound surprising.0
