Have you set up your own name and password for your router?0

Have you changed the default user and password settings on the router.
Anyhoo still waiting the stats. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I'm proper confused!!!
Never in my life have I come across an exchange that only Sky provide a service on.
Whoever told you that is talking out of their 'arris.0 -
The Sky BB service runs over BT phone lines.0

Yes but no but yes but..........................in the case of the LLU service only from the exchange to the customer.
The network is their own, it was built originally as Ipsaris a joint venture between Marconi and British Waterways.
If OP cares to tell us the name of the exchange we can see what LLU services are available, of course almost all ISPs will offer a service over BT's network. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Some sky routers are default 192.168.1.1 not 192.168.0.1 you can check your default gateway in your network connection status then type the ip address into the address bar on your browser then login to get your snr stats to post here. I would fit a filtered faceplate to your master socket and plug the router in there then ask sky to remove the cap and retrain the line, if its still crap i would investigate 3g/4g coverage in your area might be okay with an external aerial then you can fit a 3g router and it would be as if you are using a wired connection, but with a poor ping time if its 3g and not used constantly.
I wouldn't make too much of an issue of doing the avon stuff as they could just tell you they are breaking their terms of service by running a business from a residential broadband contract.0 -

No all sky routers are 192.168.0.1 ...and I suspect instead of putting admin and sky in to log into the router the OP is using her My sky user name and password from what she has said.
If the OP has a noisy line then that needs to be sorted first -before the BB can be reconfigured or it'll simply fail again.
I'd suggest the OP calls Sky and reports it as a noisy line - gets that resolved FIRST. Either that's the case or she's also got a BB issue as well and it's muddying the waters. Sort the phone issue first . The Sky 0844 number is free from a Sky line (or just dial 150 from the landline) and saynoto0870 will also give a usable number.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

You are wrong on that one. Many sky routers are on 192.168.1.1 most that were 192.168.1.1 had a firmware update that changed the default to 192.168.0.1 around about the time on demand over ip was rolling out but i have come across a few dozen in the last couple of years still on 192.168.1.1 without any intervention from the user. I work with routers every single day from domestic to enterprise level and i have seen it regularly with my own eyes and confirmed speaking face to face with network techs at sky and openreach so don't sit there and call me a liar.
Also OP says noisy line was previously fixed in post#3 and 180 -
Fattymcskinny what version of windows are you running?0
